Fun fact: The "third-world" term was not coined as to announce a "poor" country, but rather to distinguish between the non-aligned countries and the 2 superpowers during the Cold War: US and USSR/SU/Russia.

So technically, we can still call some of those well-off countries "third-world", despite them being NOT poor at all.

Not entirely sure if you guys are aware but Mr. George Carlin died several years ago. He is (or, more precisely was) an amazing stand up comedian. It wasn't until his mid/late career that he started talking about the bullshit that is wrong with this country.

He was a very, very intelligent man who was very politically aware. He was never one to censor himself. Rather he'd talk from personal experience and give his honest opinions about things, even if those things were obvious (After all, some of the funniest stuff is crap we see every day, and he WAS a comedian after all :p)

If any of you have netflix, a lot of his acts are available for online view/streaming. Even if you dont like, or agree with him you at least have to respect him for speaking his mind so honestly.

I admire how you see things ghost, you have a something in you that's special :) not much people see something behind the curtain of lies on everything we see, feel and hear.

Goldman Sachs seems to control a huge portion of the government and not many seem to see that, or even they see it, they stay away from it. but it is a lot worst in the other countries, Philippines for example, the government are way worst than what we have 100x fold.

    Long live the beavers....

When you do something right, people wont know you are doing anything at all... Things is, from an ideological stand point, the States never upgraded their speech or standspoints since the cold war, where antagonist opinion were clear, and it was easy to choose a side. Now, the economics do not work the very exact same like 20 or so years ago, with the entrance of China at the "free world" play... Corporations have ruled this world since a long time ago, but since everything was ok to eyes of the people, there was never a real concern to look at those painfully obvious problems. Now, after all the speeches are exhausted, now that there is not a clear side to stand to, now that weapons seems to not solve the problems, now that USA economy is not the most stable and more powerfull... things are not been doing right anymore, so you see those problems and point the finger at them. Even if mister Carlin was/is right, he is just pointing at what has always been there, but we didnt want to look at because everything else was just alright.

Humans are cynical and hypocrital by nature, goverments just take that to another level... we just pretend it to be OK when everything goes well.

OT but the term third world or first world is rarely used nowadays hence the UN even calls it now developing country/ies/nation (i.e. Philippines, Indonesia,Afghanistan etc.etc.) while Developed Countries refers to the likes of US. S.K., Japan etc. though they are technically called First worlds.

Oh and BTW Philippines now belongs to the New industrialized Countries together with China, Malaysia, India among others.

i think a lot of people here need to get out and explore the world lmao

whats this about bashing third-world countries? have been to many first-world countries, theyre re nothing different. corruption, crimes, wasting peoples money on stupid policies, useless wars, etc. have been to many third-world and people are warm and friendly.

'opportunity' is a relative term. for someone who's lazy, no amount of opportunity will help. well, exception of course is if he/she lives in some war torn country. also, blaming the government is always easy way. well, who voted those people in the government in first place?

americans have this superiority complex, that unless someone's an american, then he/she is crap and just belongs to some shitty third-world country. like the way they dont care if they mistakenly bombed innocent civilians in their foreign adventures.

for me, as long as i'm with my family and love ones, i couldnt care less

does not government consist of people? it does not matter whether society is controlled by 1 or 10 people, it's just a matter of fact, that every single person would not give a sht about others, when they are at the top of so called power, when they feel this power and control it. i suppose this topic should not be argued as there is no boundary to the greediness of humanity and we should as well admit that this world is just a will to power !
