Ground PVP

I have an idea I was thinking about and was going to talk to Carl about it. Just wanted to get some opinions.

I know there are some people who want ground pvp so I was going to look at setting up an "instance" with disabled free fly that everyone had access to. Create a portal for each faction so you can go at it.

I've got to look at some of the areas built into the client. I was hoping to find a cool area thats not really in use at the moment but I also think it might be possible clone an existing instance with different parameters and it would exist aside from the main instance. Like a ground DP except it would be set to both factions like dredgion but with free fly disabled.

What do you think?

you better fix the problems that causes the server to crash imo ... this can wait , really .

I agree, and then disable the free fly is a good idea.because elyons use the flight when he began to lose their lives well

 

I like the idea but spawn camping might be a problem like dredgion.
But it's really a good idea for classes that fail at flight pvp :>

 

It's already being worked on. It's part of the changeover tomorrow.

Won't say there will not be any issues that need to be addressed after the changeover but thats what i'm here for.

Stability wise I think we will be much better off, not to mention some of the optimizations should cut down on any server lag.

It's not going to be a small closed map like dredgion. Also I could create multiple entrances so if one is being camped you can use another entrance.

This is a great idea, dark poeta would probably be a good map too, have each faction spawn on opposite sides when they go through the portal.

or you can take the shield from Teminon and Primum form retail and put the spwan in them

 

Support this suggestion. Some players just aren't cut out for flying PvP for a number of reasons.

 

I like the Idea, even tho I don't mind flying pvp, ground pvp would be a nice change.

 

Hey! Just a suggestion.
How bout making it open for like once every 2-3 hours? or maybe a war time(hell yes i love it).
I'm hoping for like organized war.
Not just some random and unorganized war.
Basically just give a reason for people to join the war instead of sitting around in main cities.
for example, giving it a goal or little reward for the war.
And for the losers....they get nothing. XD

I think chlora was looking into them - I don't know if he's left anything behind.

Maybe clone DP - get rid of the mobs & voilà

 

We'd have to have separate entrances.. Camping would be a huge issue.

I like the war idea, I used to play cabal. Would be cool, would have to figure out a way to do rewards.

Hmm, while I wouldn't support a no free fly heiron/belu, I can support this idea. Adding multiple portals is a good idea too. Keep the map pve free though, except any guards you want to put in.

 

I think free fly is great, and ill by nice to make a zone like WoW battlegrounds without free flying. With both sides random spawns every 30sec. Only in this zone without free flying.
