just curious how many people here use torrents xD adding a poll, will take a few mins

 

I am currently uploading 2 Animes for the Gamez Community

lol i limit seeding to 1kb/sec xD

might download d.gray-man later, its hard to find coz its either taken down coz of copyright or hosted on megavideo which is blocked in UAE. proxies would take forever to load it lol. atm watching darker than black (lucents idea)

I sortof hate torrents because they're so dependent on seeds/peers.

If the torrent is good, I absolutely love them because I can start it and pay no attention to it. But 99% of the time if I can download something from megaupload or rapidshare or things like that in 1-3 pieces, I'd rather just do that because I know what download speed I'm going to be getting and its extremely easy.

Though, if its an immense file I always prefer torrents because downloading 40 RAR files from uploading websites without a premium account on them is TERRIBLE.

 

I like downloading with torrents. I don't have to finish my download in one go and can turn my computer off inbetween.

 

i like isohunt too piratebay is better for programs and games but isohunt is easier to search for movies. if u lookup jaybob (or axxo) in the search box and sort by date, ull see all the dvd rips of all the recent popular movies. guaranteed quality

depends on ur net as well as how u setup ur torrent the settings can affect ur speed dramatically ^^ also direct downloads can be more risky than torrents. torrent sites have comments under them saying if stuff works and if its safe, direct downloads dont have that

actually in the past, torrent meant a virus was almost guaranteed now its almost the other way around xD depends on what u download

 

I use torrent only for pr0n.

I've never had a single problem with one of my direct downloads working or anything like that, ever

and my torrent settings are fine, my upload speed is high enough that I don't have to toggle it at all, it won't really effect my download speed whatsoever. I have more of a problem with people that DO toggle their settings and seed at 1kb/s (*cough*) because then they provide me with a horrible DL speed xD

haha xD upload/download ratio isnt the only setting there u know global max connections, max connections per torrent, upload slots per torrent, all of these make a difference. even with 1kb/sec upload i can get up to like 2-3mb/sec download speed, 4mb/sec is rare but yea, its really fast (thats back in cz where i had 26mb/sec download speed, here its like 700kb on torrents max, mostly 30-80kb, depends on torrent)

yeah i use uTorrent as well xD actually hated torrents when they first came out, used BitTorrent back then and it forced u to seed permanently and slowed ur pc down like crazy lol

btw was just bout to say 100% of the gamez aion community breaks the law when 1 person voted no

not really lol, just that u cant change the number of options once u decide on them when u make the thread. i was short on one, was gonna split up no as in dont want to and scared just didnt have the space

tbh its not biased otherwise, u have yes for everything, u have yes but only for legal stuff, u have lack of knowledge, u have a no option

 

I know I know ;p my settings are fine, I can get a really high DL speed but as I said, it depends on the torrent. If it has bad seeding, it sucks.

With that in mind, I only really use it as a last option or for extremely large downloads as I said, would much rather download it directly ;p

Anyway, megaupload doesn't really limit DL speed at all so when people upload something on it I can go crazy and download stuff amazingly fast

 

megaupload also doesnt have comments or a decent virus check people upload a lot of bs there too and u dont know what ur getting xD

 

use cheat engine or w/e to boost speed for torrents and its like 2x or even 3x faster then normal download so i'd say its much better for everyday use !

 

I dont use torrents , i use direct downloads :3 thus i dont have to wait a couple of hours for ppl to seed of having to worry if my ip will be tracked and ill loose my security clearance..

 

lol wtf xD u know all u do is just change the numbers u see right? it doesnt change the actual speed, u cant change ur physical bandwidth by a variable changing software
