    I guess it depends on how much we are unaware of the lie and then coming to a decision when being aware.

    How about white lies?
    Sure it is a 'positive illusion'

    But what if the person being told the white lie is already aware that it is a lie but refuses to confront the white liar the truth ? (the truth about the white lie was ... a lie)
    Would the person being told the white lie be deceiving oneself ?

    Most of the people see and believes what suits them. Thats the basis of politics too.
