    If you're in a dorm, get a hold of the dorm staff immediately and see if there isn't a water pipe leaking in the wall. It can get serious if not checked, like mold which could cause respiratory problems and such.

    Considering the way my cat mangled my headphones as a baby, I'd say one helluva chewed out cable. That or the kitten barfed on it.

    On sidenote, speak of the devil and she nearly broke another headphones just now...
