Suggestion to GMs...

@ Pedro: Yeah....the GM who was supposed to reward me 10 mil you know....got banned from Crystal. <_<

@ Ryang: Eh, at that point it would just be wiser to have the Head GMs choose because they're the ones with their hands getting more dirty in the community and everything. But even then, it's still hard to choose the GMs and such. But I see exactly where you're coming from at the same point.

 

Actually I think Karissa chooses. And the internal staff issues on gamez right now are quite large. I don't know, but they are desperate. I legit thought the guy posing as MJ had a good chance of getting GM also

 

Getting good GM's that wont abuse the power is hard, we saw that many times already.
We cant tell Carl who he should pick, its only his decision and I dont think he will take our opinions as a major suggestion.

As for the camping. Yes, it is really annoying when you are new and low lvl, know noone and get killed at spawn place every time you resp, they wont let you escape most times =/
There was an announcement before 1.9.x.x update saying that this will be punished but I dont think they did.
Was more a scare off.

Now GM's, Developers, Forum Moderators and Admin's have more urgent things to do like server crashes/lags that hopefully will be repaired tonight.

@Sabaku: Fair enough. But you'd be surprised what people will listen to as long as it comes off somewhat intelligible and not like what the original post of this thread was in "QQ terminology". But alas. It's his server, and he'll decide to do what he wants. In the meantime, I love Aion, and I enjoy playing Crystal, so I'm probably not gonna go anywhere for a while and nor are the rest of my friends in my Legion.

 

This was actually supposed to be a real rule, unfortunately I got flamed enough from it before anyone even gave it a chance or understood it that it never went through and instead we got guards everywhere which are now broken for some reason.

About our current GMs, I think we have an excellent team of GMs (for gamez, at least) there's only been a few underlying issues:
1) GM applications probably shouldve been opened a week sooner due to several of the last selection being removed or quitting and others either having a small break or working on other projects (I had been working on wow until a few days ago)
2) internal staff issues which are being worked on and shouldn't be of any concern to the players nor brought up by them
3) possible need to get rid of the "festering wounds", I won't go into details.

Karissa helps decide GMs and I help suggest some to her. Trust me, I know you guys enough to make informed and logical decisions to suggest to her about who might potentially be the best for the server.

Yeah, but honestly that means nothing. My friend, demi, was recommended by pretty much every single GM, yet he was not chosen. And from the choice of GMs on crystal, I can tell you that Karissa/Carl basically pulled names out of a hat. Some of those GM choices were surprising back then, and led to the "festering wounds." Either way, the camping idea was good, too bad people can't pvp head on and use camping as a means to get AP. Thats what happens when you get a bunch of nabs and give them high levels and top gears.

Either way, i think the simple fact that Carl is almost never on for HIS server, and Aeon does nothing but joke around, really brings concern. I see people who show dedication and effort, but it matters not because of that. Hopefully some good GMs arrive out of this. Honestly, Alente IMO is the only one who has proven to be good so far, and Edi you will probably be good also now that you are GMing again

 

Edi, not trying to tell you how to do your job or anything, but I figure just reason one is the only one needed to be posted so there's no controversy...but maybe that's just my thing....I used to GM on an L2 Private server, which, ever since I left has been on a spiraling downfall to the pits of hell, and I know people get touchy on 'sensitive' topics like that (and after witnessing the new staff they have, that is probably one of the reasons people started leaving. x_x)

Edit: And I mean...you said they're not player concerns, so I don't find a reason in them being mentioned in the first place. >_<

But yeah. I'd post an app to do it, but I haven't been around long enough to see how you guys function nor to probably get positive feedback from anyone, but hey, if you ever need a moderator slot, I'd be more than happy to help out. Once I get hooked into a forum, I monitor it for hours on end. <_<;

 

Unless they change around the rule that makes it so i can't assist GMing on Aion if I'm working on WoW (despite that I had to get on aion to solve the "duper rage" thread a few days ago which partially led to my resignation from wow) then you guys might lose me again as an Aion GM when new GMs are selected.

As for Demi, since I wasn't a GM for the last selectioni only suggested 1 person and they did indeed become a GM (I won't name who) but it seemed successful and I fully intend on giving Karissa my opinions and suggestions this time when I get the chance. I'm not sure if anyone actually verbally gave a novel worth of logic (what I normally do) over why Demi shouldve been a GM or if they just thanked his app, I'd assume with reasoning he wouldve gotten it.

 

I think they all sent carl PMs about it. But I guess therein lies the fault since we all know carl does not read his PMs at all. And you can give opinions, not saying you can't, but from the choices in the past, it seems like they pick names out of a hat and try and deal with it. How many good GMs have they picked that are still around? I think only zoda and he was caught abusing his powers (YES IT WAS ABUSE) and albull and jazz although they are in a different scenario that I won't go into. Its like the lottery imo, and the people I think who deserve it probably will not get it.

 

Or completely negate what I said, your choice I suppose. -Shrug-

 

@aidyn: what I meant is that right now it shouldn't be something that players need to worry about or bring up, not that they shouldn't know it exists. Personally I think the community deserves to know more than they do currently, but alas, not my decision to make

@rg: I can't say whether or not that's the way it's been done in the past (I'm sure it wasn't that bad but I don't know any facts) but I can tell you that at least I personally will do my best to suggest the most competent, helpful and beneficial GMs i can forsee, hopefully it's taken to heart by Carl and Karissa

Ahhh, the logic is clearer now. I see where you're coming from, just wasn't sure if you meant to contradict yourself, but I get it.

Thankfully the system seems to allow me to force save the spawn tables ingame now ;p

 

But the Elyos deserve to have their teleport locations camped they all hug each other in Sanctum and Heiron duelling each other thinking it's doin them any good in a situation where they meet asmos face to face and realize all their skills aren't cooled!

 

GM could you please spawn Mikurinrinerk and the rental items Shugos? I've been looking for Mikurinrinerk for almost a week now...

While I agree, usually it turn's into a 20+ people vs one person who sadly teleported there.... almost always turn's into that.


Now let's face it, I would want to stay hugging in Sanctum too!

To be fair though, both races do it equally... it's sort of hypocritical to say otherwise.
