hat or helm for ranger..

i have both abg hat and helm, but my buddies tell me its better to equip the abg helm to my ranger..what do ya guys think?

 

if you want to evade more attacks hat is better but for deffence helm , your choice...

 

i have both chain and hat too but i'd go hat for my ranger because of the higher evasion stat in it . inched:

 

Go for the hat, is much better for rangers, trust me, the helm gives Block, wich is useless for rangers but more p.def , wich is also kinda useless for rangers, while the hat gives more evasion and more magic resist, and both are useful.

 

meh. i wont always go 1 on 1 against tanker types, so def isn't that big issue for me, so its hat then..i guess.. thanks for the replies!:wink:

Hat is pretty much for evasion which i consider to be useless on this server since everyone will have far more accuracy than you have evasion anyway.

If I had choose from those two I would surely go for the hat. But, if had a hood/headband thats could get a debate going because some say magic stats are good for ranger also... :::hides from trolls:::

 

Between ABG Hat/Helm:
ABG Hat. ABG Hat gives higher evasion, and MR, and an insignificant amount of defense less than the helm. You will not even notice it while in combat. The ABG helm only offers a relatively small amount of increased defense, and +Block, which is absolutely useless to rangers. ABG Hat's evasion and higher MR stat is more useful overall.

Between ABG Hat/Headband:
ABG Hat. Headband gives MB, and concentration, which rangers most definitely do not need (unless you want to increase the damage of Blaze, or cast Snare/Sleep/Sandstorm while being pwned by a glad in anklesnare) even still, it's not that useful. Especially not that little of an amount. ABG Headband also offers only slightly higher MR (+5). The ABG Hat gives higher evasion, and a little more defense, which in the long run, will pay off more than the Headband.

Overall : ABG Hat

 

The problem is you also won't notice the increase in magic resist / evasion unless you socket it. Unless you plan to socket either i still think helm is better because a nearly none existant increase in defense is better than a non existant evasion and magic resist that will never work.

Well in the end i don't think either will effect you much..
