Cleric: Chain Vs. Cloth

Of course I'm skipping leather though mindyou ;p


But which set do you personally prefer to use on your cleric/would you use if you had one?

And why.


Heres how I see it myself:

Cloth:
-More MR given overall.
-Castspeed on gloves is a plus.

Chain:
-More Defence given overall.
-More Attackspeed rather than castspeed from gloves.
-More Healing boost.



But the question is, is the more MR more valuble than more defence? Is the increase from defence even noticeable at that!

Is the difference being castspeed noticeable over attackspeed?

What about healingboost, the cloth set may have castspeed and more MR... but is the healingboost loss worth it?


Cloth: More MR means more flexbility with manastone builds. Perhaps incorporate block into ones build?

leather - evasion manastone. dodging shadowbursts and anklesnares like a boss. you know how it goes: I GOT THE MOVES LIKE JAGGER...

 

I'm using cloth atm cause I used to be a sorc. Well, playing x1 against most of classes (no sorcs Q_Q) I can win, I have lots of MR, MB and MACC, buuttttt, if 3 sins/glads/temps/rangers/whatever or more start attacking me is like bleh heals heals heals heals, and I only have to let my summons attack and I can use some instant cast spells. If try to cast anything (even with 8% casting speed gloves) but heals, I die. LOL.
I like cloth, cause I play DPS cleric on Lumiel, so it kinda helps. But I'm trying to get ABG chain set cause I havent tried it yet and if HBoost and pdef help I'll change my build to chain set.

btw, I only play cleric for about 4 weeks so I'm still learning the class xD Maybe I die a lot cause im noob, oh well T_T

and, I have to say. Dont play cleric now, not on lumiel at least. Your casts are gonna be canceled all the time, even with poison and low damage attacks. Concentration is pretty ridiculos imo.

 

If the healing boost from ABG Chain actually worked, then chain for sure. As it is right now it's a fine line between what to choose.

 

+MB on cloth
+MP on cloth (not a big one but its a kind help)
+more hp
+ it looks nicer personally

I use cloth on cleric, and if p def was fixed, cloth hands down. Dont know if healing boost from chain even works too.

 

Well what I am arguing is also what Physicist said. That + MP.

I can go for DAYS healing and spamming crap.


In my cloth set btw.

 

I wanna get a cloth wrist(abg or something with cast) so I can heal faster and just switch between it and chain.

If you can only use one set I'd go for chain for the defence, and healboost.
If you can have the option of having both, then thats what you should be doing. Chain set for MR, and cloth for MA (which gives more mboost, so it should be the offensive set)


I don't have the luxury of having both sets right now, but I have MA+14 on my chain gloves and pauldrons, rest is MR w/ MCC glasses.

I have a shield set with MR on it, and an NHDE/ABG staff with MA+14 (my MA set)

I usually hit around 1800 MA, and 1950 MR with my MA staff and like 1650 mboost. There was also an update where smite skills have increased MA now I believe I read in Carls patch notes + the skill that drops MR by 200. I can beat sorcs if I play my cards right.

 

chain more def.... and with mace and shied ull be having enough MR...+healing boost ur a cleric afterall.

BTW, I'm using full abg cloth and it doesnt say I get parry as bonus set and today I just realized when I took my tunic off, my parry went from 2076 to 1690, same happened when I took the other parts from the set. I dont have parry socket on my tunic and my tunic doesnt give parry bonuses just like gloves/pauldrons/shoes/pants.

ABG cloth set effect is giving 400 parry?? Can someone confirm that? O.O'
