Turning greater aether into pure aether

    Is there a way to turn greater aether into pure aether? I know you can break them down(in retail) but I thought I read somewhere that you could take 3 items and bump them up a grade.

    Ever gotten that to actually work? I wish it did I have so many ores, gems, and such I do not want the greater versions of for my alchemy!
