Well we can hope his son won't be worse. If we're lucky he'll be even better and N. Korea will begin to progress towards being better over time, but all we can really hope for is that he won't be worse and see what comes of it.

Same reason the rest of the countries like N-Korea hate us. We're too different, and we think we're the world police.

    HEY!!! I'm still here lol...

It's not good news because it pushes Kim Jong-Un his successor as well as the North Korean Military Population a stronger drive for reunification which probably happen through war and force. Right now we know that South Korea has support from the USA, however it would take time for the US Navy to reach South Korea which would allow a swift Blitzkrieg to rush the capital of South Korea by land and secret tunnels dug by the North Koreans from the north. And if the USA would go to war, it would be likely for China to join on the DPRK's side as well.

In short term if a military invasion were to happen, South Korea mainland would be devastated by the North Korean rush military tactics from the higher altitude land and Seoul would be completely overrun. And that is the worst case scenario. The best scenario is that the North Koreans would decide to break straight through the DMZ and get destroyed by the South Korean-US resistance of over 1,000,000 troops active.

However in the long term it would be the end of the North Korean regime and the weakening and eventual recovery of Unified Korea into a more geopolitically influential nation in the world. North Korea is likely to lose the war long term because even its closest ally China thinks of DPRK as being unreasonable at times and has close relations economically with South Korea. North Korea also has tons and I mean TONS of obsolete weaponry from the Soviet Union days which pale in comparison with South Korean-US weaponry. Lets also not forget that that the DPRK has many problems such as famine and economic aid from foreign nations which would probably cease to exists if they break war. Let's also not forget that the ROK has one of the strongest and advance miltary gear and training in the world and is one of the 5 nations capable of producing anti-naval ships AEGIS defense security system which great reduces the need of manpower to operate.

Right now war seems to be very possible because of the stupid uncompromising South Korean President Lee Myung-Bak.

Technically if anything 'we' and the South Koreans are supposed to be the ones hating them specifically the 'Dear Father' Kim Il-Sung, unlike the Vietnam War, where the Vietnamese had the right to hate the Americans (which I doubt they still do because I live in Vietnam and 7/10 want to go to the US for education) because it was a clear stand and fight against their communist ideology, the Korean war was sparked by the push of the North Korea troops over the 38th Parallel Line pushing South Korea right to the tip of Busan. However the North Koreans don't know this and through many years of elaborate propaganda and army parades, North Korea has believed that the USA is the one that divided 'The Great Joseon (the way they call their country)' into two. They think of Americans as imperialists, if we try to look from both perspectives, America was trying to spread capitalism across the globe and contain Communism, however imperialism more or less specifically means the taking over of many overseas territory under your sovereign power, which is technically wrong considering their ideology was only spread.

As for me indulging myself in 20th century political history, I believe that it is a pity that the North Koreans hate the Americans and that the Americans that don't reply in the same manner should be proud knowing that they are acting maturely and wise.

This is for all of you who are curious for what happens in Korea, enjoy the laugh.

They would be the likely one to lose lol. The US-South Korean Protection Pact states that the US will defend south korea from northern threats. :D. The Kim Jong-Il-llies have 8 nuclear war heads... the US... have about 5 thousand lol...
