New Siggy!

So yeah, I haven't been very active the past few months, but I have a lot of time on my hands now and I want to get back into making signatures and such.

Here is my newest signature:


I'm kind of rusty, but meh.. what do you guys think?

 

I like it, pretty good for a comeback. I haven't made anything in a year or so, here's my piece lol. Not very good but meh, just till I get back into it .This was originally a sig meant for Hardstyle.

No, that's good!! You hit the spot with the brightness / contrast. The colors are complimentary too!
I'm not sure how I feel about the green.. c4d? The highlighter green stuffs.

 

Yeah that's most of my point, I failed when it came to adding a flow to the signature and while I absolutely adore the render/stock, I lost direction when making it fairly fast and didn't know what to do with it.

 

I liked your last piece so much, Lucent. That I tried I drew inspiration from it.
I had a lot of fun with the text on this one.

Vertical signature! I love you dc.

I've been thinking about making a vertical signature all day but I never have much inspiration for what won't be used and on Gamez at least, vertical signatures aren't of much use since the rules won't allow for it, but I love them.

I wish we could use vertical signatures, because sometimes some stocks would just be sooo much better if they were made vertically.


EDIT: I made Jellybean a signature earlier that I had owed her for a while. Its extremely simplistic, didn't try to add much more to it other than enhance the stock format a bit.


The artwork I used for it definitely favored vertical dimensions, so it would've been so much nicer had I been able to use it in a vertical signature.


EDIT2: So much more color in version 2, I like it, personally I feel like it gives more expression to the piece.

I just thought the stock looked great vertical so I made it like that.


Edit: I think the yellow light next to her hair is a little random. Maybe if she had light streaks they could glow? It feels like it just kinda popped out of nowhere. The text has the "slap-on" look, as I call it. It looks like you just slapped it on there instead of working it into the signature.
Try and play around with clipping masks on your text. Sometimes it looks mad cool.

zerochan.net makes up for about 99% of the stuff I use, they have a really great "theme" feature where I just type in what I'm feeling and it brings up all entries that have been tagged for that feature.

For example, a week ago for Ashtar's signature contest I typed in "Snow" in the search and it pulled up the theme for Snow, I probably could've done Winter or Christmas too, but I chose snow.

Today, I typed in "Colorful", and it even had a theme for "Colorful".

Its mostly anime stuff, with much more vocaloid art than I'm pleased with seeing, but almost all of it is high quality and some are just drawings from users which are absolutely fantastic. Theres not really any renders on there, but the art quality makes up for it by miles in my opinion. Also, some artists choose to include a background image with their art, so if you just want the scenic background without the characters in the way, you can choose that.

Deviantart makes up most of the rest, though finding quality content on deviantart is a lot harder, in my opinion.

I've really stopped using renders for the most part, the typical render I can easily find without spending hours of effort is a pretty basic overly used cutout with way too many off-color particles and too many cut-off hair strands and such.

 

No reason why you shouldn't appreciate it. The colours in their own look very funny and weird, but when you put them together they somehow are harmonious. A lovely light source and very strong eyes that stand out. This sig reminds me of peacocks when they fan their tail feathers out.

I always loved Dimi's text. She just has a feel for it (unlike me).

Anyway, I was playing around with some effects gradients and stuff. Here's what came out from it.

i really like the colours, but that black background on the left is kind of icky e.e
maybe if you switched it to light aqua or white to suit the rest of the sig, it would be lovelier.

the text could be drawn closer to the render as well.

you could probably lessen the opacity of the smaller image of the render (the one on the right), since it looks like a a zoomed out shadow of the image render on the left.
or you could do the same with the image on the left :3

edit: the reason why i love the colours so much is because red/orange and turquoise/aqua are my favourite combinations *-*
