There aren't any gaming modems. There are gaming routers, though. Newegg.com - D-Link DGL-4100 Gigabit Gaming Router GamerLounge Broadband 10/100/1000Mbps 1 x 10/100Mbps WAN Ports 4 x 10/100/1000Mbps LAN Ports

I suggest figuring out how to "bridge" your current modem to your router so that your router handles all of the traffic. The router definitely has better CPU modules than a modem, so it should decrease your ping by a little.

Then there's this: Newegg.com - VisionTek Bigfoot Killer 2100 Gaming Network Card

It's a NIC. Basically, you plug your ethernet cord into that instead of your mobo. This overrides your CPU network stack and allows the card to handle the networking stuff. If you're in a zerg area, your ping won't suffer because your CPU is busy.
Also, the card is proven to be more efficient than the windows stack.

But I don't think proxy tunnels such as WTFast is compatible with the killer NIC. You might have to contact WTFast to see if they can release a patch for people with gaming NIC's.

good fps while frapsing is determined by the speed of your hard drive and processor, not graphics.

I keep an eye on my GPU usage, and it shoots up to the 90% when I start recording.
