In a typical full abg situation and if you have the luxury of possessing mcc glasses i would definitely say a combination of mr / ma.
I am a very solo minded pvp'er so i'll explain it for solo situations.

Allow me to explain.

With top gear you can hit around 2000 magical accuracy and 1900 magic resist (using food), i've been doing it with an abg + taha tome since it nets me higher macc than an attack speed tome. Any spiritmaster worth his stay, or any siel spiritmaster should have spirit wall protection. Water spirit wall protection is good. It will raise your macc by another 100 and magic resist by 250 every 2 minutes for 30 seconds. With these stats nothing will resist you, the only thing that will resist you is a templar with AA (which you can just kite off or dispel with broken dispels) or a cleric. A cleric might be able to resist you, but they sure as hell can't hit you as well. These battles will just end in a draw because both will be unable to take eachother out. Normally a cleric is already very hard to take on 1v1 as sm, unless you fearbomb him perfectly.

1900 Magic resist will allow you to resist pretty much any real threat (silence arrow, ankle snare etc.) Meanwhile you will be hitting everything perfectly fine except some clerics. This will help you run away from zergs so incredibly much easier, it's really more viable for solo pvp.

If you like to group pvp alot go for full macc though.

 

Or you can just do what i did and take a gpp full magical accuracy set if you really want to fight clerics.
