Well, if they enforce it will be one thing. I could see it being a big deal, considering.

Honestly, it's stupid. Really. I understand capitalism given I own a business. But, greed outweighs sanity.....and some of these new bills are stupidly insane.

Just think if they start shutting down like Twitch.tv for infringement or youtube really I mean....(This is basically SOPA only on a world scale -.-;)

:p didnt kow it was signed a couple weeks ago... need to go out my cave more often it seems.

If the bills and laws really represented the common feel of the people it will to be ok, but this is all for the folks who already have tons of money and want make even more.

After seeing Megaupload and ThePirateBay(it's just a matter of time) shutting down, I won't be surprised if people will actually will get jailed for 5+ years just for sharing a file. :pouty:

i doubt that would ever happen. And they won't close piratebay that easely. Just move all your servers out of the US. People who are in the US will find there way to those sites with proxies anyway.
and i bet megaupload will be back soon aswell, once they get rit of there servers inside the US.

As long as US is the only one who has this acta crap. it prolly won't do much. If more country's or parts of the world will follow for example europe. Then it will get worse

    nah but really:

    SOPA failed, lets introduce PIPA
    PIPA failed, lets introduce ACTA

see where im going with it? its a pathetic attempt by governments that no longer represent the majority. its not like they can realistically enforce it anyway. worst case people will create their own underground internet, smaller scale with restricted access that cant be accessed globally. file sharing detached from governments ^^ kinda like a huge LAN

if u torrent just grab peerblock, it blocks IPs that try to sniff ur connction (a little over 775 mill IPs in the database now and updates quite frequently). its funny coz it lists the IP and company every time they try to sniff u while u download (lots of them r anti p2p), ull be surprised how many people watch u :p

the only change id possibly do is enable http (http port 80 and https port 443, its 1 button click there) since some websites wont load when u block those too. otherwise i find it really useful xD

it tells u that the USA was too busy with SOPA and PIPA while EU focused on smuggling ACTA through the back door while nobody knew what it was
