KONY 2012 - What we can do.

It's not our fault we're not omnipresent. I do volunteer for a cancer foundation near my place, and that's the least I can do.

 

Well I hate u lol, I just came online to make a thread regarding this, raise some awareness in the Gamez Community lol.

On a serious note, I will prolly be coordinating this Cover the Night event in my city, see how many people actually go out of their way here to get the kit and do more than sit on a bar watching soccer and getting their asses drunk, and actually raise the awareness where I live. Hope to hear from your hometowns as well guys, it would be nice if in just a couple of weeks this 8 Y/O movement turns into a worldwide known movement.

Just today I heard of Kony for the first time in my life, but I do not feel sorry about it. I rather feel grateful and happy that even over here in Honduras, his name is starting to be heard; and that's how we all should feel honestly. Were it not for the internet and social networks, this project would be moving at a turtle's pace, and because of that, I am happy I am a part of these networks.

I really do hope those of you that start donating, get the kit, and join the April 30th event, are heard. Thumbs up if you are doing it btw!

Most people have barely heard of Kony for one reason and one reason only he states it in the video people didn't care or bother to even make it a big deal due to it not being a threat to the State but from what he states we know he's been working with this movement for a while now and is just now becoming a worldwide type of thing due to Youtube. I myself will be doing the Cover the Night because i'm going to show my support and I two hope its posted everywhere on the news and such.

I see Kony 2012 pretty much all over DeviantArt now and don't see the whole point of it. Not only that but the sad fact that people are just now finding out about child soldiers and shit is just shocking. I mean...seriously? This is nothing new. Africa is not the only continent in the world with a problem of child trafficking nor does its multiple countries. I mean hell, here in America we have problems of human trafficking as well, and if you've ever watched Jesus Camp, we almost have people training children to be soldiers.

I think the whole Kony 2012 campaign is an scam, honestly. I've looked up a few articles on it, and think that donating to organizations such as UNICEF, and even charities that are actually based in Africa and it's many countries if you care so much about what's going on. Or at least get your facts straight.

Oh and Kony isn't even in Uganda..

To each his own. I only posted the video up here for people to see, not to tell anyone to do anything. However, I do agree that there are other methods of donation/help. This is just one of them.

They have also responded to the criticisms that they have been receiving and also provided a spending plan, which is good transparency in my opinion.
