aion: how big is it? (in GB)

Hi, i want to know how big aion is.

first of all how big is this aion to download in GB?

And second how big is this aion to install in GB?

pls help me!! just need to know if i have enough place to download and install the game.

 

about 10GBs to download.. 18gb after the install

while taking into account hes gonna need the space for both since it leaves the .ncpatch files that can be deleted later inside the folder (+ some spare space for the windows page file and virtual memory)

id say around 30gb while ur installing the game, after that u can wipe the .ncpatch files and get down to 18

 

install with using NCsoft and it would be easy.

go inside ur aion folder and delete all the .ncpatch and .repair files (right below the folders there), they r unnecessary, its like setup files

anyways not so bad, ive seen people who had a 28gb folder lol

well installing means u have both the setup files as well as the installed game at the end on ur disk at the same time, so u need space for both of them. if i were u id get more

 

19.1 for me. i got ncpatch files tho.

Mine is 16.5GB.

 

that depends what number u look at in properties the outside value is smaller, mine is 16.8 but when u look at the true size in bytes its 18.1 xD

its coz 1mb = 1024kb instead of 1000 etc, it carries over

people just refer to different numbers, but yea its around 18gb on average

edit: btw the chat.log makes a big difference for people, ive seen some1 whos chat log was 2gb

also matters whether u use the uncompressed (xml) items.pak, thats over 200mb more

 

It is generally a good idea to have at least 10% of your hard drive's total space free to avoid performance issues. Windows uses the hard drive for swapping and if very little is free the swapping gets very aggressive and your system will slow to a crawl.

 

well i am installing it now and it didn't say that i had not enough space, so i guess it will work without problems (the installing tho, i don't know if the game will work yet).

 

id really say it depends on ur total capacity more xD imagine people with a 4tb harddrive, do u really think they need 400gb for swapping? xD

depends on what file sizes u deal with etc, a few gb for the pagefile and virtual memory is a must, but yea games these days r huge so just fitting the setup + game takes quite a lot of space

 

so actually in total for everything of aion i would need like 40gb?
