Bottlenecked?

Any reason for my 550Ti to lag my butt off on HQ in gamez?
I have 8 gigs of RAM, but I suppose this i3 is keeping my card down.

 

gotta say ur processor too, many aion functions r processor intensive, not graphics card intensive

 

Thats not really a card for gaming,maybe thats the reason? But idk.

^I'd disagree. Out of low to mid-end cards, this 550 isn't horrible at all. I've tried all games with Frostbite 2 on high and ultra and they gave all 40-50 FPS. ME3 played with 50-60+ with no problems on HD.

 

should crash quite frequently with that aion doesnt really have a RAM clearing function, it just takes up more and more over time

btw i read bout the HD engine hardware reqs, kinda crazy with everything maxed

 

maybe it's not the best graphic card for aion in HQ and the i3.. i7 yes

 

it's your CPU.

get one that overclocks to 4.3 Ghz and you'll be fine (I suggest an intel 2500k since it's only ~210$ and it has the newest chip architecture).

if you do upgrade your CPU, consider a GPU investment since your 550Ti isn't far off from becoming a bottleneck.

you answer it yourself. That procesor is for casual users, not gamers.

Your card is fine, works for games quite well, but you need to balance your system, an i3 is indeed too slow to take advantage of the card.

aint that simple, the 2500k is a sandy bridge s1155 shipset... if he had that i3 from a previous generation he has to change Mother Board.

Figure it out first what shipset you have, you can still find some i7 (or i5 could do as well) from the s1366 shipset series.
