First hit / Last hit Rumor

Can a GM, AM or dev please dispel the rumor about vip first/last hit?

It used to be the case that drops were based on who is party-leader. I'd love to get this addressed so we can knock off all the first/last hit weirdness.

it really doesnt matter about first hit/last hit. its who starts/grabs the loot first that matters

 

As long as the leader is VIP, all drops are vip. Whether he loots or attacks it at all.

 

I think the loot is vip as long as the vip loots the boss. At least thats how it works for me,cause i have been in party where vip is leader and i was farming elsewhere and i had no vip drop rate..

 

Thanks Ablazed, hopefully we can stop this first/last hit weirdness. Maybe I'll start a rumor where all party members have to give me all of their lvl 1 gear to get VIP drop rates

Oh and he has to be in range of the mob, ie. his name is lit up in the group.

 

Thanks for verifying, that'll save us way more time now that we don't have to sit around and let the vip solo the last 5% of hp.

However people are still gonna do it. ;s

 

At one point, I used to have "First/Last hit is a myth" blah blah blah in Notepad and I'd literally copy it into /g every time I'd run an instance. Now people might believe me when I say it.

I must confess I will miss tanking all the BT bosses on my SM. Oh wait, that is probably going to keep on happening
