unique question for GMs

What is the server policy on a script being ran so that a character in my legion just repeats legion messages in our legion chat? I have created a 2nd account and have another computer that I want to log in, activate the script, and the toon would basically be set to type stuff in legion chat every so often. Is this too close to a bot? Would it be a bannable offense or am I thinking too much into it?

This would be used to help out since Legion Announcement only supports super small (limited) message space.

 

If there is complainment about spamming you could go to prison nothing more as far i know.

 

The macro options allows you to do that.

But it's against the rules to have anything done by your character that you're not doing it yourself, like you'd have to press the macro button (at least on the retail servers)

Have you considered making a forum, with all the info you want to post, and put the link on the announcement section so people can go there and read it all?

 

I have a forum and I would like to put a link in the Legion Announcement screen to my forums but the problem remains that you can not post a link or message that is longer than 29 characters

 

just put the site then. A site adress isn't that big most of the time.
But as i said before you can use a script to say go to that forum.
As long as you aren't getting complains about it.

Or make a redirect site that as limited characters.

 

We manage to fit a fair amount more than 29 characters. The problem is that numbers and most special characters don't work.

 

About the legion announcements,
It's buggy.

Make sure there are no other digits like "," "!" "?" "`" "@" etc...
Your announcement should be made of normal characters only.
