Question about the new voting system.

I've vote for my account on all 5 voting sites and strictly followed the guide. How come the credits rewarded is not exact. Supposedly i will receive additional 75 credits, but i only got 45.

 

You must have done something wrong. Didn't typed the captcha or didn't clicked the banner.

 

better take a vid everytime you ppl vote.

 

I have followed the instructions carefully. Typed in the captcha, clicked the banner. But it just redirected me at the home page and not in the voting page.

 

hes right they screwed it up lol. even if u vote u get taken to the voting site again. even if u fill out the captcha u get no credits

way to go. yet another perfect example of taking something that works and turning it into something that doesnt work.

 

If your using Internet explorer (i hope not) it doesn't work right. Try using firefox if so

 

i guess they want the votes to atleast count when people vote (which is what its supposed to be) but it has been like that (no captcha needed) ever since and VP counted.. haha
since 101% of the people in gamez never really input the captcha.

 

using firefox, doesnt work anyway. thank alente for this one, he deleted my vote macro guide, infracted me and tried to change the system, now we get nothing even from voting properly

i swear that guy makes me wanna make a macro that clicks the link that says u were tricked to go there on every voting site and make it public

 

So you make a guide about how to harm the server from voting (Which is what the automated macro does as it doesn't actually vote), it sits because most of us AMs don't have a clue whether to leave it or nuke it (And I'm admitting guilt in this one personally), then when it gets nuked because of the amount of damage it could do to the server, rather than respecting that and just leaving it alone, you come and spread hateful comments and disrespect the guy?

well looks like i wont be voting anymore lol, ill focus more on retail :>

 

1. they still get OUT votes
2. people never really bothered filling out the captcha anyways (for a good reason, they got credits without it regardless) so in practice it did no harm
3. u could at least say something about it if u have an issue, wipe + infract is pretty low

its the way its handled that i have an issue with

 

and consittering you do basicly everything for downgrades and item.paks that these lazy bastards cant do u think they would be a bit nicer to ya ;D

Which browser are you using? (including version #)

You're absolutely certain you're hitting vote, then the captcha, then clicking on the gamezaion banner?

Judging by the numbers I'm seeing on our end the system seems to still be working for a hefty amount of people. We could use some more useful information here =p

We've tested this across three different operating systems using Firefox 12.0 and it worked for all except GTop100 which has since been corrected and now works.

This propaganda grows increasingly tiresome.

On the subject of your guide I fail to see how you felt remotely justified in posting a guide that completely automated the voting system without granting any significant benefits to the server - "out" votes are of minimal to no use. By not entering the captcha your vote is not fully registered, under the old system people who chose to simply open the votes in a new tab then close them were getting credits while the server was getting no benefit.

We choose to make vote credits available as a "thank you" for people who take a small amount of time out of their days to help support the server. They don't have to donate, nor do they have to volunteer to do anything massive within the community, they simply type a few letters and show their support of the server. Automating the process so you simply get free credits and then balking when we choose to take steps against such actions... how horrifically entitled do you have to be to even moan and complain about that with a straight face?

How such a guide lasted for so long baffles me however we will not tolerate people actively promoting that sort of culture on our servers. You were given a slap across the rump and sent on your way, it was meant to be a warning but vB is a cruel mistress with checkboxes, however if we notice it again chances are the repercussions will be of a much pinker variety. I quite enjoy when you choose to positively contribute to the Gamez community, especially when it comes to client compatibility issues, but we draw the line at anything that negatively impacts on our servers. That rule applies to anyone and everyone regardless of their fan-base.

If you can't handle actually voting then chances are you weren't doing things properly in the first place so those non-existant "votes" will sadly not be missed <:

I truly fail to see what's so complicated about vote button > captcha > confirm > click banner/link > oh look I'm back at the voting page.

If it's not working fully for you then a) make sure you're actually doing it right and b) provide us with useful information.

If you're simply upset about having to actually vote instead of hitting a "free credits" button well.. tough biscuits.
