3.0 Extendables Weapons

I was thinking about extendables in 3.0 . From what i have seen in videos and pics there shouldn't be new of them with the 3.0 update . I want to know your opinion about the best extendables that we have ( athana/laes lvl 54) . With the new level cap we will reach level 60 , athana/laes will be obsolete because of lower damage ( compared to the lvl 60 pvp non extendables weapons) or we will continue to have more pros instead of cons ? ? ?

 

You can have your 1% more pvp damage, I'll be chillin' 5m outside your reach hitting you with my greatsword.

 

Laes/Athana will still be best for 2H weapons in PVP even with only a 50/50E combine.

as far as i know, you are right and there will not be any new extendables. but i wonder if there will be something better to fuse laestrygos with...

 

The Leastrygos series are the best extandables there are.

They almost have the attack and base stats of an ABG Item this fused with a +10% pvp weapon and they are beast.

If you want more pvp % just buy a title then the one with +2% pvp attack and + 2% pvp defense.

(But this slightly does help you out).

 

Funny thread is funny,i think people havent really checked the stats of athana,they are almost as good as noble tac officer,not to mention that athana gives even more parry than NTO. So yea,please. Athana is top weapon,i have like 10 extra athana items for sale when 3.0 comes.

I just want to mention that i was using ice black spear (when athana didnt exist yet) while almost everybody else was using abg spear. And guess what,ice black > abg. But take a look at the stats Aion Item Comparison - aiondatabase.com . Even though ice black was weak stats wise i was still using it cause simply extend> all. This. Even DDG Mace is better than Athana mace.

 

Athana's fate mace is not bad if you want to run with a higher chance of magical crit and higher chance of magic smash/divine justice,its generally a nice mace cause of the high magical stats along with crit spell and high min-max damage. Though DDG is betarr,even meno or jechu

 

as far as i have seen from playing retail 3.0
the players don't really use the extends as main weapons more something to click and switch to
when their target is escaping otherwise they are not very..how to say productive in pvp as much
then again there they can't or rather don't put in the effort to obtain athana weapons and such
esp since veille and masta quest are bugged...i wouldn't say they are ruled out
but a athana staff base damage is 216 meanwhile they newer stuff the highest base is
250 for staff and the acc stat is well over 100 as well as alot of other percs
ppl that can't without extendables will prob find themselves in a disadvantage with the new skills
your damage simply wont be good enough in most cases guy stated you can have your blah percent pvp damage while i kite you
good players are not going to allow you to kite them it is all about how you move and how to stay on your target
skill > relying on baddie tactics

Athanas/Laestrygos have same basic stats like SW/Yammenes, only bonus stats and number of manastone slots suck.

 

And you would barely see a damage increase with the higher end stats while losing extend rage.

Your enemy will at point kite you, because you'll likely be fighting more than one at a time. Extends are still dominating in 3.0 though, and if your enemy stopped using it, take advantage of that.

A major concern should be whether they will block or parry more often, not the base damage.

 

I cant imagine playing my templar without an extendable weapon,when i first started playing with my templar i tried an abg mace for like half a day and i was like err omg what the .. afterwards i got my self an alukina's mace (i already had one i just needed to put a GS on it and enchant it xd) ran with it for a couple of weeks til i bought my Jech for slow down and my DDG with silence,all was well after that. Without extendable IMO melee classes are just punching bags. I have 2 templars 1 gladiator 1 sin and 1 chanter,all have extendable weapons (sin's off hand is just abg cause it works like that here in gamez).


Lets not mind what others are using,if they dont use extendables then thats their loss and they dont know what they are missing,better take advantage of it

athanas gs and polearm is good if you have higher crit rate. like 600-800 crit strike. i use this when i feel that i can do better damge to him if not i just switch to my abg gs sword.

 

Truth is it's impossible to get Athana's fate coz its hard to quest. in retail most good gladiator and templar used extendable weapons over abyss weapon even it will sacrifice damage. and i saw even in youtube they used bakarma spear even in 3.0.

 

The top PvP glads on Tiamat usually use +15 Bakarmas w/ Silence. It's definitely the best thing to use for pvp. For Pve? Not so much.
I'm not sure if you don't pvp as much, or you just haven't seen the really skilled bakarma glads out there. Like Teqy for example. Definitely one of the best glads I've ever seen.
