    So, i just want to know how to record my gameplay. What program i will need and instructions on how to do it.
    I would like to see my gameplay for entertainment when i'm not playing or when i'm bored :smile: even though i'm not very good in pvp.

    I know there's google to search from, but i wanted to know from experienced players who always record their gameplay.
    Hoping for good guy greg to reply this thread. Thank you:love:

    the most common programs r FRAPS or xfire, both of which u can get free (google it), though FRAPS needs a cracked version to change more settings and cant compress videos on its own, it needs Virtualdub to compress them (though guess u can use windows movie maker for compression too)

    depends on the program and how u set things up. coz yea recording uncompressed video writes several gb of files on ur harddrive. if its the same disk as aion/OS it can lagg u quite a lot. also kinda processor intensive

    in fraps at least u can choose the screen size and FPS u wanna record at

    Also should make a note here.

    Some of the recording programs (X-Fire, Fraps) can have different effects on your pc. I tried both came out with x-fire being the best option for me. I know people who try both and one comes out better than the other. Also, if memory serves me right Fraps requires a separate encoder, while x-fire has built in encoding and uploading.

    Another thing you should think about, for example when I'm recording someone during a game of hide and seek, I'll easily take 5-6gb of video, which would be equivalent to about 3 or so minutes of footage. Yes, I start and stop a lot, 30-45 second segments, 4-6 or more times.

    I also found that, my computer would say okay your going to lag a ton. That was until I figured out putting the 'recording' directory on one of the external drives I have made it faster. Given that, that drive is USB and such what not I am sure if I had one internally it would be able to be better / faster and less taxing.

    If you need help with X-Fire if you choose that solution to record. Your welcome to send me a PM and I could help you setup for best quality possible.

    I do not know fraps at all, but I am sure there are others here who do and would be happy to help out.

    @Puddles FRAPS splits files automatically with a fixed file size (was 2-3 gb or so) so u dont have to start/stop a lot. but yea id also suggest recording on another internal harddrive or an external one since writing on the same one can lagg the crap out of u (unless its a SSD)

    Didn't know that ^^!!!! now i do yay thanks hunnie for teaching me something else new hehe.

    @archeleus
    As for compression, x-fire is automatic and well, yea idk that much as to how it does it. It just makes a smaller file and uploads it, then I delete them and leave them on the x-fire servers to save myself space or I would have like 20tb of hacker footage by now or more. X.X!!!

    if x-fire has automatic compression then why are your saved vids for 3 mins equal to 5-6 gb. i thought compression gives smaller size.?

    I used Xfire when I was AM, at first it records the vid as .AVI file, which has very large size, then you can auto convert it to another types, like .FLV, .Mp3,... to reduce the size and increase the quality, pretty much....
