Whats the use of Magic Suppression?

As title says, coz i dont think its same as Magic Resist??..xD anyone knows whats their diff?.

 

Magic Supression reduces the damage of Magic Boost.

 

reduces magic dmg. for example if ur 1000 magic supression, then it reduces magic damage by 500

2 supression = reduce 1 magic dmg

 

Wrong... Magic suppression works at a 1:1 Ratio.

 

both wrong it doesnt directly reduce dmg , it reduces mboost effect , 1200 magic supp would lower dmg by 100% (of skill info) so it might lower 200 dmg on flame bolt and 1k on glacial

 

Magic Suppression reduces the Magic Boost damage calculations (important word), not actual damage itself. If someone has 2400 magic boost and you have 400 magic suppression, essentially the damage they deal on you will be the 2000 magic boost damage.
The stat that reduces magic damage is new stat called Magic Defense, which works in a similar manner to Physical Defense.
