Vasharti + Archon Captain Weapon Fuse

Been asking around if Augment will work if I fuse Archon Captain + Vasharti weapons (AC weapon being the one on the bottom). Found some threads here in forum with AM claiming it does work. I asked different AM in-game and said it doesn't work so which is which? I really wouldn't want to waste 3000 credit worth of item just because I got a wrong info from an AM so can someone please confirm if it works or not? Would be a lot better if someone could provide a screen shot as well.

Ask Jamich, he put his ACD Staff under his Vasharti and i think he said it's working - i kinda dont trust gamez enough with their update's so maybe it works now and in the next update it's bugged so i just put a EAC under my Vasharti Spear to be save : o
