1. Replying to a help thread (support, problems, questions).

When replying to a help thread and getting the answer the person needs. (You are sure that you've solved it. It's a good idea to lock the thread so that no further posts can be added to the thread. This prevents spam. When replying to a thread (Quick reply) use "Go Advanced" and if you scroll down, you should see a "Close Thread" option.

2. Using the Modcp.

a. Log In.

This is vBulletin v4.0.2 so it might be different, but it is similar. On the bottom right hand corner of the screen, you should see "Contact Us" "Gamez Forums" "Archive" "Top" and a "Mod". You don't get AdminCP. QQ4U. You can log in here:

3. Searching for users.



With this useful feature, you are able to:

Change their profile picture (Don't abuse it)
Change their avatar (Don't abuse it)
Change their signature (Don't abuse it)

[For these three above, only use it if the avatar\signature has inappropriate content such as pornography, hentai, advertising other servers, etc.]

View their profile (Very useful)
Ban User (You can ban them, don't abuse it though, it goes under logs.)

4. View Profile

You are able to view their usergroup (What group they're in)
What email they registered with.
Their custom title (if there is one).
IP

And a lot of other useful things. You are unable to edit these values because you're not in AdminCP though.

5. Pruning

This is for moving old threads and unwanted threads to a certain section (usually the trash section). It's to move unwanted and old posts that are no longer posted.

6. Infractions



For vBulletin, it should look like a red\yellow card on the bottom right corner or the upper right hand corner of the post. If you click it, you'll have an option to "Warn or Infract" a member.

Only infract if it's a serious offence and you feel as if it's needed. Do note that depending on the settings that whoever setup the infraction system, it might ban them.

NEVER DO SOMETHING RIDICULOUS LIKE INFRACT SOMEONE FOR ABOVE 10 AS THIS SERVER MOST LIKELY HAS IT SET SO THAT 1-3 POINTS = TEMP BAN/PERMA BAN.

Only go drastic such as 50+ points if they're doing something EXTREMELY drastic, or let an admin handle the situation.

Well written.. i been working with vb 7 years or so.. so the 1st part of close thread options is still the same in this version as the 4.x.x series...

if they ever want a light aion armory plugin for tool tips with our a heavy plug in i have one they can use with a small header template edit and a custom bbcode....


back to your guide they could also use a prefix system as well.
