Need XP testers (items.pak)

I've been doing a bit more research and experimentation and ran into something odd that I want to test out here. There is a high chance that the items.pak will work for win XP people but wanna test it first before adding it to the guide.

1. Get the V2 items.pak from here (If this whole process doesn't work, repeat with V4)
2. Extract it anywhere
3. Take ONLY the client_items.xml and put it in your data\usa\items\ folder. Make sure there are no other files in that folder except for this and that data\items\ contains the original items.apk
4. Try run the game and see if it works properly
5. If it still crashes, move the file out of data\usa\items so the game loads, at login screen switch to "Fullscreen" mode (if you use anything else), quit the game, add the file back and try run it. Avoid multitasking when the game loads, just dont do anything else while its loading past the NCsoft screen.
6. LEAVE FEEDBACK

The last part is very important. I'm trying to figure out if the reason is too many loose files (I mean yea it is over 4,000 of them), fullscreen or multitasking in general. You can test these out separately to tell me under what circumstances the game loads. Any info helps.

Few XP people that couldn't get it to work any other way got it to work right now so it is worth a shot. Good luck.

Still not working on me, tried the two versions and I got this error:



and a sendlog client error.

 

Yep it didn't owrk for me either send logged.

seems like few people just got lucky. got my hopes up coz some guy said that worked for him and when i told another person, he got it to work that way too oh well, thanks for testing it. now go upgrade ur OS lol
