Experiences with Aion:

Retail, almost a year (templar). PvP'd a lot but eventually quitted. I do have the Collector's Edition so I've been playing it right from the start and know a lot of ingame details.

Experiences with GamezAion:

I've been here since December 2010, so it's been almost 9 months now and I took a 2-3 months break from February on. I am playing it quite actively again.

Which programming languages do you know?

C/C++, Python, Java, PHP, ColdFusion, BlitzBasic/BlitzMax.
Usually it takes me 1-3 days to get into a new programming language because the concepts are similar in all languages. I learned how to program, not how to use a specific language (I'm pretty sure I could learn C# in less than a week).

Which other technologies / stuff are you familiar with?

MySQL (databases in general), GIT, SVN, XML, HTML, Networking, 3D/vector math (linear algebra), DirectX/3D, OpenGL

Your current job?

I work as a software developer and I am currently working on a resource management project that utilizes ColdFusion/MySQL.​

Languages you can speak fluently?

German, English, Russian (and a little french)

How much time would you need to get into p. server development?

That's hard to say, I guess it will take me at least a month to understand all the Aion/PServer specific stuff. A software project of that size is hard to understand I guess and I didn't develop any private servers before. Although, I did develop a server for a small 2D RPG with networking features (moving around, chatting, etc.). I know how TCP/IP and UDP connections are established in a variety of languages and I know how network streams work in general.​

Would you change server code to your own advantage?

No, of course not, I have no interest in causing imbalance in this game and I'm sure you also have some type of "commit accepted / commit rejected" system to prevent such things. I "finished" Aion already because I only had 2 goals: 1. Getting 10k kills (reached on retail) and 2. Being governor for a few days (Gamez). After that I felt like I "finished" the game and I'm playing it purely for fun now, I seriously don't want to change code for my own profit.​

I'm a very enthusiastic developer who even invented his own programming language (though didn't finish it), I like to develop new things and I also have a lot of experience finding bugs in codes. My primary motivation to be a developer for GamezAion is to be able to respond to the bugs the community has reported and to fix them asap. I won't fix bugs that are just rumors, but those where enough evidence has been provided. Server transfers are another story people have been waiting for for a long time and I might be able to help implementing that feature.
