Hello and welcome my good friend and may you have a most joyous day of fun, games, and all around good times with your bestest and closest friends and family. For it is your birthday, the day of your birth. That glorious day roughly 9 months after your conception by your parents when your mother went through a lot of pain and hardship to bring you into this world. May the times be good and the celebrations be great for it is your birthday, they day of your birth because it is your birthday.

However something has greatly been bugging not only me but many other people. Why is it some commonly and foolishly referred to as a birthDAY? Birthday should mean the very DAY you were born, not the anniversary of the day of your birth. It would make much more sense to modify the very seemingly incorrect name of birthDAY to something that makes much more sense, such as birthANNIVERSARY or perhaps even better birthDATE.

Yes birthdate seems much better as it marks the DATE of your birth for it is actually the DATE you were born and brought into this world by your mother and not the very actual day as that event happened years ago. So I shall retract my previous statement of happy birthDAY and instead replace it with the most correct statement of happy birthDATE. For it is the date of your birth and may the times be great and fun and may you have much family and friends to celebrate this most wonderous and joyous occassion with you on this DATE, the DATE of your birth for it is your birthDATE and not the actual day. So I say to end this post my good friend happy birthDATE and not happy birthDAY even though I do hope indeed that the actual day of your birth all those years ago was also a very joyous and happy occassion celebrated by many but that day was far in the past and now it is time to celebrate your actual birthDatewith fun birthDate games such as pin the tail on the donkey, hit the pinata, and perhaps the more daring young boys and girls will even venture to play spin the bottle or truth or dare. So I say again, happy birthDATE
