Appearance modify Black Clouds Traders Shop items?

By which I mean -

could you modify the appearance of the hats and clothing in the shop just like any other armor?
I obviously don't want to waste my credits on testing it, but I'm curious if anyone can tell me... just in case.

 

You can use costume to remodel any type of armor or headgear (cloth / leather / chain / plate) as long as they are the same part (ie: both headgear or both chest piece etc.) but you cannot do the opposite which is using headgear or armor to remodel a costume.

If you want to remodel an armor using another armor they have to be the same type and the same part. You can only remodel a breastplate using another breastplate. You cannot remodel a breastplate using a tunic (cloth), hauberk (chain) or jerkin (leather) because they are not the same type of armor. In short, you cannot cross-remodel.

As for headgear, you can remodel a certain type of headgear using any type of headgear but you cannot remodel a headgear that is categorized as costume using other type of headgear. In short, you can use costumes to remodel a piece of gear but you cannot use a piece of gear to remodel a costume.

Lastly, weapons. You can only remodel a certain type of weapon using the same type of weapon (ie: both has to be spear or both has to be greatsword)

Grade and level of item doesn't matter.
