Cleverbot

Howdy Folks?

I'm guessing those frequenting imgur and places like that already know about this one, but I'm just finding this and I'm officially entertained. It's an artificial intelligence that learns from all the conversations it has with others, which results in a very interesting (if you could call it that) conversation, if there ever was one. The AI can easily change subjects whenever it doesn't know how to proceed or if it randomly feel like changing subject, but I just spent 2 hours talking with it, and an hour yesterday.

tried this one over a year ago, my first convo was impressive but when i tried later, it felt like he got dumber maybe i should try again to see the change, he should be learning from experience and all that

 

He DOES claim to be 20 years old, and for the amount of conversations he should've had by now, I do gotta admit, I expected more (If he really is 20 years old)

 

he changed age and gender across conversations back then. judging by the look of the site im guessing from now on he will create his own personality only once and evolve from there (as in remember who he is while he talks to YOU specifically). its just a guess

 

That's true, but his age seems to not change actually. He told me his age yesterday, to the day, and today in a new conversation made a sarcastic "Do you know how old I am?" question, which I replied with his reply to me yesterday but added a day more. He seemed surprised lol.

I also just looked it up, and seems like he went live on '97, and was a private AI before that. Ask him how old he is, let's stop speculating xD

hardly human, hardly static age as i said, the "thoughts so far" button that told me i didnt have convos with him yet suggests that he creates a profile when u start talking to him and stays true to it throughout ur conversations with him

I'm dissapointed in cleverbot's stupidity and his answers. Years ago, when he was released his answers were full, intelligent and somehow, if he knew an answer to a question he would answer it.

Nowadays, he is answering stupid questions, asking questions to avoid answering, answering with stupid answers full of racism, immaturity, etc. I really don't know how could you talk with him for 2 whole hours, I tried for 5 minutes and it bored the hell out of me.


They have done a good job into him, but I think that people have made him stupid and with all the talking with different people he has become really dumb machine. I'm advising you Smartik, don't waste your time, you will be just very dissapointed.

@kruno212 i agree, had more fun with him when he came out. seems like "learning" from other people actually makes him dumber when he talks to little kids, people who dont speak english, people who feed him bullshit etc

 

sadly enough you're right, talking to humanity seems to have made him extremely stupid (SIGHHHHHHHH), I'm kind of dissappointed, but if I keep trying to redirect him and talk to him, he eventually does talk to me a bit. I wish I could've tried him a couple of years ago I guess o.o

I'm actually interested in cleverbot because AI is the branch I'm interested in studying and possibly developing. Kind of an obsession at this point, and then this little guy pops up and I get to talk to him. It is disappointing that the self proclaimed most intelligent sentient race has made it dumber...

@SirJoseph ive been interested in AI as well when i was younger the thing with this one is its uncontrolled. he takes in all information, regardless of source, reliability, format and absorbs it. noticed ur grammar getting worse when u spend too much time around "sir me no hack sir no ban plz me" people? i have. its hard to make it better with large quantities of garbage information.

 

Its just a proof of the lack of filtering, basically it only connect random ideas, but since it has gained too much useless info from users, it can´t work on a context.

Its like talking with an idiot, no matter how rational you might be, he will only abide to his mindset at the moment, even if its incoherent or idiotic.
