Meteorite exploded over Russia

So apparently yesterday (or early this morning, however you want to look at it) a meteorite entered the atmosphere. Like most meteorites, it burned up before it could really hit the ground with enough mass and impact to cause a crater or anything, however, it was powerful enough that it not only caused a gigantic flare in the sky from exploding or whatever, but it also caused a sonic boom that destroyed buildings, blew out windows, etc.

Oh I saw that in news. The meteorite will pass by the earth in 2 hours and some minutes. That's quite nerve-racking. I am scared lol. And I thought it fell in Ukraine o_o

well i have family over there now watching that stuff atm on russian chanels for those who don't know the meteor didnt made a lot of probs but tons of people got hurt cuz of the impact and stuff because all the windows exploded and walls got destroyed on a big area around of it kinda weirdo( about 1000 asked for help because they got really hurted and russian hospitals couldnt give that much help ). we're close to the end of the world *sigh*

That was no meteor.

That distinct pattern of the explosion and trail during the entry was caused by the Plasma Drive of a brand new Vulture class Low Orbital Bomber that was being tested by some secret organization. The thing is that it got too close to my Ion Cannon, and the defense system just triggered and shoot it down. Luckily it was not loaded with the new Reactive Warhead made for anti Multi-Phase energy shielding, those are loaded with small neutron/anti-neutron warheads that would have been lethal in atmospheric conditions. Those are sorely to be used in space against other vessels of larger size that can use and sustain such shields.

In any case the armor of the Vulture was heavy damaged by the particle weapons of the Ion Cannon that caused severe hull integrity disabling the Inertia shields, making the ship uncontrollable by either the pilot or the Nav system in the harsh conditions of upper atmospheric maneuvering. The forces teared the hull apart making the Plasma leak from the reactor, making the beautiful fire pattern in the sky.

Sad to say the pilot didnt make it, and nothing could be recovered, of course it is also regrettable the damage caused by the supersonic wave that destroyed the property of several civilians on the Ural Mountains, also causing some minor collateral damage on the population.

Its complicated that these events are showed to the light of the public. The Vulture is one the several space vehicles designed as part of the fleet that will leave the earth with 100.000 people, mainly elite as an attempt of survival when the a critical failure of our sun would be certainly mean the end of our species. The fleet once completed is set to travel towards Proxima Centaury, hoping to find a suitable planet near that Binary Star system. The travel is scheduled to last at least 50 years traveling at 3/4 of light speed. Though, truth be told we havent tested engines to perform at those levels for that extended period of time. Its a risky maneuver that the top minds of the world are trying to accomplish, but in the face of the Solar Flare that is predicted to happen in about 2.3 years time, will simple overload the earth EM shield, causing it to be dispersed and the microwave radiation will simply cook our planet to a crispy level. Sadly the surface of the world would be left inhabitable for at least +-2.8 thousand years, and even then, there is no guarantee than the EM shield will ever be in place once again to protect us from an event of such magnitude.

Anyway, there are some plans that are being trying to be put in place to at least give some small, almost unexistant hope to those that will remain here, some very deep underground bases and small cities that should be able to hold up to 1 billion people at best, the rest would simple burn to ashes. Even underground there is no guarantee that the melting temperatures of the surface would not burn the inside; is expected that the soil will turn liquid completely destroying the entrances of such bases, and even if humanity managed to survive, no one can tell if those souls will ever see the surface again.

The scenario that is managed right now is that no matter what, Earth and those that remain will be doomed, the deep space fleet carries most of the advanced technology being developed, and its expected that there, and with that small level of people, a new order will be created, no more capitalism or democracy; but a system of Clans with the sole purpose of preserving and enhancing the new human race. Due to the quantity of survivors projected, about 10 Houses will be created, 10 Clans, each specializing in a specific parts of the human knowledge, any dispute that were to happen, would be solved through duels called "Trials" there, the offended parts will fight with their honor on the line, the rules would be respected to the utmost degree. If a large scale of conflict were to occur, only an Star regiment would be allowed to fight for each part, the destruction of one of the Star regiment would mean the end of the Trial, and the issue would be put behind, by the rule of the Grand Clan, to be chosen every 20 cycles of the Binary Star.

It is assumed that at some point, the Clans would return to the earth to regain its ruler ship, to establish a new dominion, powerful and vast that will control the stars.

By the way, the flag ship of the migration fleet is called -Y Ddraig- (The Dragon), it will use my Ion Cannon as its main weapon, leading humanity in a bright new future.

 

There are so many holes in that story.

The Sun isn't due to fail(go red giant) for at least 5 billion years.

But anyhow, we should be thankful that they only took injuries. Hoping for their quick recovery. I'm thinking, they might posses super powers from space like we always see in Marvel mags and movies.

My thingy about the sun is accurate though I may be off by a billion years or so, at any matter that shouldn't be the on the top of our list of worries in this lifetime.
