Simple suggestion about imposters.

This is the problem:

:Start
1- I create new account.
2- I make a character with name similar a GM/AM.
3- Try scam some players.
4- Someone report me on forum
5- GamezAion ban my account.

Solution? Ban MAC address, not Account ^^.

PD: I'm so boooooored of this newbies that try scam other players -.-

 

Troll them. When they ask for my info I go like "Acc: Your mom, pw: slept with me" for example. Theres so many ways you can have fun with them lmao. ;D

Yea, tell them you're going to report them and they'll delete that character, duh.

 

Just let them waste there time creating accounts everyday and most likely failing to scam people and then report them and bam there banned.

IP bans get bypassed with proxy, mac addresses can be faked too. You can't stop them this way

 

They could know how to change IP, but I don't think they are smart enough to know what mac address is lol xd

 

yep like smartik says above...is not a good solution to ban mac...cuze if have a router without clone mac...you can ban router mac no pc mac.....and yes mac adress can be spoofed so is not a solution with mac ban....

 

The amazing power of google xd top results all full of guides. I am pretty sure they would have their own guides between the so called "hackers", same as they do for downloading all sorts of hacks for gamez.

The steps are all really straight forward and you can change it in your own registry so yea, even people with no skill can do it

 

And how could they ban theirs PC? There must be a way to stop those people xD

 

The MAC address is a unique identifier of every device, which should have banned their PC specifically regardless of the IP they use. The point is, you can fake this one too.

It's for this that I said MAC and no IP, for make a fake IP it's so easy but for change the MAC address you must have knowledge about this (So hard xD).

And yes. We can see easy if the player that wisp us is an impostor or not, but I'm sure that the new players are endangered.

 

Well tbh common sense is the simplest solution. If you aren't hacking and some moron with bad english asks you for a login, it is pretty obvious he is a scammer. No staff member on any server anywhere would ever ask for a login.

Anyways changing mac address takes about as much effort as getting on a proxy. If they can do one, they can do the other
