    Common Scams

I decided to wrap all common scams/hacks together.

Many players are getting scammed daily and they report the victim on the forums and they have no proof or got fooled by the hacker, this guide will help you prepare for scams in the future.

    Fake Gm's/Am's:

These are very common hackers and you will most likely come across one at some point.

I'll not go into detail because there is already a detailed Guide on how to avoid this scam - http://forum.gameznetwork.com/f63/gm-impersonators-66635/

    Woc 2 Scam :

Pretty much the hacker will trade you and put woc2 into the trade box then he/she will cancel the trade on purpose and then re-trade you and then he will swap the woc 2 with woc 1 these wings identical the only way you will notice the difference is if you high-light over the wings with your mouse cursor.

    How to avoid this scam?

. Simple ALWAYS double check your trade by high-lighting the wings to check if there woc2 before Clicking "Confirm" the hacker canceling the trade should atlease alert you and give you a clue its a scam unfortunately some players still fall for it.

    D0ndee
recorded a hacker in action on how they do it -

I suggest watching this video to get familiar with this scam to avoid it in the future.http://forum.gameznetwork.com/f136/woc-lvl-2-scam-how-they-do-149386/#post1603002

    Woc 1 -

    Woc 2 -

As you can see its quiet clear that the stats look very different woc 2 has more attack speed stats, then woc 1 so always high-light the wings before clicking "Confirm" as I said before even if there your freinds, legion members or what ever.

    Ninja-looters :

These nasty greedy hackers, tend to steal all items from Instance boss-hunt drops without sharing them with there group. unfortunately with this scam there really is no way of telling if they will scam or not until its to late.

    How to avoid it?

Not many ways to avoid a ninja-looter unless you can read the future.

. Do boss-hunts with good friends, legion members.
. Check the forum report section every once in a while who knows maybe you will find the ninja-looters the name in the report section for ninja-looting in the past and they have not been banned yet.

Always remember to scree shot or record and report the ninja-looter to get them banned.

You can record with many free programs, such as :

    Hypercam 3
    , Fraps & Bandi Cam.

Listed the download links down below this thread.

Sharing Your Account Details Scam/ :

Many players tend to share there accounts with friends and then they get hacked and lose all there items and in some cases there account.

Some players even go on "free credit" sites and get hacked

Just remember if you do get hacked, staff will not refund your items.

    Your account is your responsibility

    How to avoid it?

. Keep your details to your self never give out your password, not even to your family members.
. Scan your computer daily this will remove any viruses/key logs that may be lerking on your computer.
. Avoid going on sites that claim to give "free" credits and other nonsense.
. Avoid Cafes etc. Yes I know most players tend to play on computers in cafe but it's a good idea not to seen as many people use the computer and may get it infected.
. If your wanting to transfer items from your account to another, then you should multi-client and transfer it your self or log into 2 different computers.

    Wrong remo scam/Lie :

This scam isn't to common but it still does happen once in a while. Not sure if they should be called scammers or liars.

The player will lie about the remo claiming its something else usually something rare so they can make profit, when its not for example - "Wtt My Hac Set with Nto Full Plate Remo (Very rare" = your credits or what ever". and there Hac set is (regular hac set remo) It doesn't have Nto Plate remo at all and you may not notice this until the trade has already been done.

Pretty much they claim there items have a rare remo when they do not and some players tend to fall to this scam.

Staff will not refund your items, nor ban the "scammer/Liar" after all its your responsibility to check-what your paying for.

    How to avoid it?

. Always check pictures of the "Remo" there claiming to selling on Online such as Google images and other aion sites showing picture of remos.
. Ask a staff member if there online just type ".gmlist" in the chat box.
. Ask on the forum make a thread asking on picture/information of the remo and I'm sure some one will help you out.

    Lent item to friend :

Many players foolish lend items out to friends or even randoms with the agreement of "return" the item back to me. However most players who do this get scammed and don't get there items returned !

Staff won't refund your items if you do happen to lose it so I wouldn't risk it.

    How to avoid it?

. Never lend your items out (duh).

    Kinah scam :

Not sure if they removed the max kinah limit for trading but some players tend to fall for this scam, pretty much they will give max kinah (1b) for a item they want to buy off you but there suppose to give more kinah after the first trade ( they can't do it all in 1 trade because of the kinah limit) and sometimes they scam and log out.

    How to avoid it?

. Only do the trade if you trust the person or at your own risk.

Remember to have your video program ready for recording before you do the trade this way you get a full item refund if you got video proof.

Using Fraps and recorded a video and its ridiculously a large file?

Then follow this simple Guide on how to lower it 95% Smaller. - http://forum.gameznetwork.com/f64/[guide]-how-shrink-your-fraps-footage-128627/

It's important to have a video recording program so you can report hackers to get them banned and in some cases get your items back.

Without proof nothing can be done, sometimes screenshots aren't enough.

Will add more information/edits tommorow. :).

Like half ,or higher than that, of the people who get scammed are people who doesn't go find for information like this on a gaming forum. Most of them would probably only check this place if they need help in fixing a client. Personally, I appreciate the help you are giving this people but the real help must come from the staff. Not by hunting them out or banning them when reported but preventing it from happening. It is sooo good to see people who aren't staff members doing their part to cleanse the server of this scammers. I hope the ones who have power do something to help us out.

I don't really think people who fall for scams have forum accounts. I am sure the traders who post threads in forums don't really get scammed. However, once someone starts whining about getting scammed, we would point them to this thread, but It could be a bit late. It would be much better if everyone had forum accounts, but sadly they don't.

You know, people learn on mistakes. Once they get scammed, they wouldn't really get bothered to look at this thread. They would make a complaining thread, they will get a small answer from the staff member and that's it.
Also, do you think they will start over after getting scammed and losing all their stuff after working hard for them? I don't think so.

you mean the same people who manage to give smartik's retard-proof (with enough images to make me understand the whole thing even if it was in japanese or greek) downgrade/item.pak threads thousands of posts about how they couldn't get it to work ? And as JC said they'll pop up here make a complaining thread (most likely in the media section cause they've never seen a forum before) accuse games of bad player support (it's true, tho it's bad-player support instead) and make some weak horrible jokes about carl supposedly bathing in a pool of cash
