Housing Auction Bidding

So about an hour before the bidding was over I headed out of the house for awhile. I came back to a mail saying my bid failed and I was out bid. I thought "Aww well that blows" but when I went out to the house I found that there is no actual housing information regarding it like their normally should be when a player owns a house. I'm not really sure what the bidding system is like here but I thought I'd ask regarding this.

The house I ended up bidding on was just a cheap little thing located.

21 Mill Ridge Village, Arcade State.

It's not a big deal I was just curious if it was bugged, glitched, or taken but the owner hasn't visit the house since the bid ended...or what.

There's a board in front of every house regarding the Auction. You can use that.

Not sure what your problem is but that board has all the information needed.

 

Yeah it shows nothing when you hover over it. And when you click it just takes you to the housing auction. Also it says I was out bid at 8:26am however I checked the Auction at around 9am and again at 10amish before I left. I just checked and the server time is just 1 hour behind me so I still would of noticed if I got a mail and out bid at 10am my time if it was bid on at 8:26am server time.

I know how to the information boards work. That's why I'm confused. It's not showing any information lol.

 

Do you mean to know the information of the person who bid higher than you and won the house? Can you be more specific on what information you need on those boards.

As I said I'm more concerned about it being a bug or a glitch than the fact I didn't get the place xD Those things come and go but glitches need to be fixed in the long run. I wasn't sure if this was a normal thing or what.

As you can see in all those screenshots I made sure to show you that I had each of them hovered over to fully show that I'm being 100% serious when I say this particular house isn't showing ANY information lol.

 

I checked it out myself, just to get a grasp on what he's saying. Basically, he's right. There is no information window that pops up when you hover over the bidding board, like there should be, that shows the information regarding that specific house (Name, Maintenance fee, Address, etc).

Also, unlike the other houses, the board says "Bidding Closed" while the board Daystin is talking about says "Resident Information" over it. Not sure if that helps, but the house isn't in the board.

 

Oh and I forgot to add that the ones that are on the auction house bid board have signs out front that says "Bidding closed" which mind you there are only 2 houses up in the board.

 

Someone outbid you but the boards are bugged so you cant see the owner's name.

It's not that he can't see the owners name, but that there is no information given regarding that specific house at all. You can't even see the address, which I believe is No. 21 Mill Ridge Village, Arcada State. No information regarding the house is given when you hover your mouse over the board.

The information you're looking for is up there ^

 

If you look at my screenshots I posted in my 2nd reply to this thread you'd see what both me and Curly can't see.

 

I told you, the boards are bugged and they dont show the information that they would normally show if we were in retail, you cant even put a message on the board at the moment. You can only see the house address on houses that are not yet sold or on houses that are already sold and there has been a server restart or few hours have passed after the sale (it wont display right after). And you can only see the house's owner's name if you are the owner of the said house.

So if you really care about the board of that house, just a wait a few hours or until a server restart.. it should start showing the address (but not the owner's name, that function is still bugged).

Its not normal, its a bug. What's so hard to understand?

 

I understand that it's a bug for me. I just dont understand why another player can't view the same information if they didn't bid on the house. That's all I'm trying to say. What is so hard to understand about that?

 

It's a common knowledge that if something is not working the way it should be then it's broken. Now, that thing you're talking about is not bugged only to you. It is bugged in general, to everyone given that you, Curly, me and Bad can't see the information you want to see. Now, I don't know what is so hard to understand...

Now you ask why. We don't know. But this problem will be brought to the higher staffs to be fixed.

 

The first time i got a house the same thing appeared on my property. Even when i clicked through the housing settings it wouldn't let the information on the board display. I let it be.. some days later maybe after a server restart, maybe after some patches, the house settings and information on the board showed up.

As badrobot said, the system is glitchy.. stuff from your house/studio still disapears.. just ignore it till it's the way it's supposed to be.

 

Housing bids are pretty funky.

If ANYONE bids on the house as its about to close, it extends the time of bidding by 10 minutes for all housing. Its not supposed to do this, and only supposed to extend the time of bidding on the specific house. There is a set time when the bids close though, which comes either at 10 minutes after the last bid is placed, or 12:30PM Central.

These will also NOT tell you WHO outbid you, simply it will say that you've been outbid, and mail your kinah back to you.

 

Alright. Well the only reason I made the thread was because I found it odd that it wouldn't show up for me. Then I realized that it wasn't just with me with that house it was with others. I wasn't sure what exactly it was and that's why I wanted to bring it to your attention incase this part of the bug/glitch wasn't known.
