Windows 8 support to play AION 4.0 ??

I have a new gaming laptop, but I try to run the launcher aion 4.0 and when loading on the NCsoft logo message appears: "AION GameClient has stopped working"

is there directx and NET Frameworks particular series for windows 8? because the current directx and frameworks that I use the default of Windows 8 ..

I'm on Win8 and we had the same problem.. I had mine fixed but not sure if it will work for you

try to create a new folder and rename it Aionbackup ..then paste all aion file except the $patch$..after that install the gamezaion launcher make sure you put the correct directory where you create new one (new one means the aion folder you create) and make sure you finish updating all 9 level updating...

Reminders:
1.closing ncupdatehelper in task manager
2.make sure you are running the correct server
3.just paste the new "Aion" folder on desktop
4.DONT MOVE THE ORIGINAL AION FOLDER JUST COPY TO TEST
5.turn off your User Account Control (UAC)
6.Everybody not seeing new item names and unable to link new items go to Aion\L10N\1_enu\data\ and delete zData.pak. It is outdated and the gamez launcher will download a newer version on next run.

run your gamezaion launcher let them update.

This is courtesy of someone here from forum, forgot his name.. This is supposed to be a fix for win7 users.. I tried it and worked for me too.

Additional Things I did:

a. I deleted first the gamezaion files from my Aion folder before I copied and pasted it on another folder on my desktop (as per instruction above)

b. I repaired it using the ncsoft launcher after I did everything above.

c. Then I put the item.pak (vo1) to my new aion folder/data/US/items.
