Master Smartik1 ! Please help me.. or Anyone? plssss... :'(

Okay.. so i haven't updated my client yet.. i'm still on 3.7 (before the 4.0 update, i ran my client and it was still working well at that time)...
i downloaded the aionlaucher to update..
I clicked repair since it seems like it is not detecting my existing client...

P.S. My existing 3.7 client is located in C directly but my aionlauncher which i downloaded was installed in CProgram Files/NCWest (btw when I installed aionlaucher , it made another directory inside the program files and the name of the folder is NCSOFT <--- exact the same folder as my existing 3.7 client)

I've been updating for hours now and I think, instead of updating... It is downloading the whole 4.0 client.. -_______-

I don't want to download the whole 19gb+ client again... :'(

but if there is no other solution...

but the question is, do i need to stop to a certain % when I'm downloading? (just like how I downloaded the past clients) or... should I just let the download finish?

I had it same as you, I started downloading new client, stopped it. Then i moved my existing client to the new folder where is new aion downloading. Started download again and it worked for me

 

you mean that it will only download the updates after 3.7 and not the whole 4.0 client?

 

What is bad about the ncsoft launcher is the directory.

To be honest I never downloaded a new ncsoft launcher, I just updated the old one, so when I updated 3.7 to 4.0 it still downloaded my old directory.
Btw you should be rdy to have at last 50gb free as the $patch$ folder occupies a lot.

To tell you the truth it would be better if you download the whole aion because then you'd have less risks for the aion not to work.

So I guess if you did the same as me you shouldnt be worried

 

I tried what InFeuse said and it seems to work for me...

It is now 86% after 30 minutes... a whole lot faster than what I did first... Thanks InFeuse !

and FMs please don't close this thread yet.. I might post something here after the download if it really is working fine or not (i'm referring to the client)..

1. Close everything related to Aion if you still have something opened.


2. Uninstall the now old NCSoft Launcher.
2.1. Answer "no" when it asks you if you want to delete the games as well.
2.2 You might want to do some cleanup if the failed installations put up a bunch of icons on your desktop and start menu.


3. Rename your Aion folder to something else, like AionBackUp.


4. In the Aion folder, delete Aion.ico, AionClient.ico and ncuninstaller.exe


5. Download the new launcher installer : NCSOFT Game Launchers (it's the top one).


6. Install the new launcher. It will ask you where you want to install Aion, select the folder where you want it installed (if the folder isn't empty, it won't work, which is why you had to rename your Aion folder).


7. Once the launcher is installed, close it.


8. Copy/paste the content of the AionBackUp folder into the new Aion folder. (progfiles/ncsoft/aion). If something like "file exist do you want to copy or replace" pop up.. Don't copy or replace.


9. Start the new launcher.


10. Repair your game to make sure everything is fine. Don't freak out if it says over 2 hours remaining time. it will actually last about 15-20minutes depending on your net speed.

11. Start the game. If everything is working fine, you can delete AionBackUp.
