Pls help, how big is 4.0 when update???and how long to update???

Elow everybody....oldtimer here trying to get back ingame,,,,,really interested to play the new Aion 4.0. my old client, version 3.7 already had 26.4GB in it and I was wondering how big this update will be???also how long does it take to update my client to the new update 4.0??? many many thanks in advance to those kind players who will respond to my query....MORE POWER TO GAMEZAION although I'm hesitant now since my sorc will be kind of useless now again to the new characters like gunslinger and the bard thing......wew....anyway, hope to play soon and again many many thanks:smile::innocent:

 

the speed of the update really depends on how fast your net is. Some might manage to download it rather quickly, while some will take longer than others. the client itself is rather bigger than 3.7 I believe, but I am not too sure about that

well thanks a lot for that bit of info AM Trainee Suhosin.....I just want to ask those who have already updated their client to 4.0 on how big the client now so I will know what to delete in my hard disk so to speak....again many many thanks in advance to those who will answer.....hope to see you ingame soon....

 

The update is estimated to be 12-15GB... if u are updating dont leave afk.. bcuz ull get some download errors around 18%, 25%, 35%, 48%, 55%.. these are just rough estimates cuz thats how i experienced it.. if u are connected with a 2MB - 8MB internet speed.. you have no problem.. also windowsXp users cant play gamezaion yet..

Edit: after updating.. launch aion first on the official game to be sure that you wont be having bugs/errors..

After all the updates and launch aion in official.. your Aion folder game would be around 60GB.. (it is because of the $Patch$ folder inside it)..

Once you have successfully launch the game via official server.. you can delete the $Patch$ folder inside your Aion folder so that your Aion folder will go back to 28GB

 

do u know that if u delete patch....allways when u repair game...will download it again>? better keep it ...else u gonna cry on a day

 

Not a problem.. cuz the only thing that the launcher repairs was the file screnewlocal_error (will always be present in aion folder because it is the command program for every send log client errors).. which is around 10-20mb data only.. not even worth crying..

Edit: as long as the Aion game has been launch successfully in official server.. that patch file had already been applied to Aion folder.. i tested way back 4.0.0.0.. deleted the patch folder... patch for 4.0.0.1-4.0.0.4 came and i didnt experienced downloading the whole 4.0 content

 

well, kamekacy, thanks for that bit of info....quite an eyeopener if you ask me.....wew, rethinking idea of updating my client to 3.7 then considering i need almost 60GB or more space in my hard disk to accomodate that......also, quite dismayed that after getting all that trouble updating, I still can't play it since exp users atm are not able to play the game still and i am also one of those exp user too....guess have to wait for awhile first and see if exp users can again play the game....many many thanks kamekacy and cocosul and to those others who would like to share their ideas too...


BTW, ANY PINOY PLAYERS OUT THERE IN PASAY/MAKATI AREA I COULD COPY THEIR ALREADY UPDATED CLIENT TO 4.0...WILLING TO REWARD THOSE KINDHEARTED KABAYAN IN KIND OR WAT...MANY MANY THANKS AGAIN

Depends on how far you are from the server. It depends on geographic location. If you live around Asia Europe or Australia, it usually takes half a day or two depends on how fast your internet speed is. If you live around U.S area, it usually takes around 2-5 hours. Again, it depends on internet speed.
