Update error cannot open file - L10\ENU\sounds\npc\copund_npc_2.pak

Win 7 64 bit

What Ive already tried - in order
- deleted bin file and triedupdating
- looked for specific file deketed file folder (nothing in it)
- uninstalled Aion completely - reinstalled from 2.0 install file and updated.
- turned off win firewall, no other antivirus, turned off antimalware
- turned off UAC
- repair file > update


What do I do to get it to update completely???

Install it from scratch, I don't know why people get those errors, but they have managed to install it from 0.

 

How do I install it from scratch?

As in uninstall it and download the whole thing from Aion? Not use the 2.0 something installer I have? holy crap! That will take me months lol...

I'll consider it after playing a bit now...

 

i have the same problem with you. I tried to delete the file from the patch folder and it progress.

 

just open the folder $Patch$ then follow the directory its showing that cant be opened then delete it.

Ihave Same error but i fixed reinstall again the aion patch because there are many file you not downloaded yet and create another fold in NCSOFT/"Name folder" and copy your patch in the new folder because if youo dont it will start it again.

have you check the error messages after you delete it cuz it wont fix the error if you only delete 1 specific file mine took 40+ files before i got to finish my update. try many experiment on the files of your update i tried so many things to make mine work

 

files of the Patch 4.0 in aion will be 3,568 files and 983 folders and have consist of 19.2GB iff you wanna see, right click the $Patch$ and click properties you see the Size and Folders

 

Here's what you need to do. (This is actually what i did from downloading the whole aion(4.0)) If you get errors while downloading(updating), just press/choose 'confirm', then hit the download/update button again, you might notice it will start the download again but it doesn't actually re-download the downloaded files hence, it resumes your download from where you stopped or where you got the error. Therefore those errors have nothing to do or doesn't corrupt your download.

 

I agree it re-download your files again

 

^this reply might lead to a misunderstanding so i have to correct it. It DOES NOT re-download the whole files, it just CHECK if the files are already downloaded, so it will again resume from where you stopped.

Ive been trying archeleus method but it doesnt work... i keep getting the same errors,

I tried deleting the files that are giving the error but other different files keep come up in the error - its getting very frustrating!!!

Is there anything else to do to get the update finished?

 

i can't recall if i got errors while in the updating process (i.e updating 300/1200 thing). but i managed to finish the download with all those errors i received. i can run the game without any problems.

i suggest you start all over again, delete NCSOFT inclucding NCWest in CProgram files/.... download the new nclauncher. and while in the download state, don't do anything silly while getting errors, just confirm it then click the download/update again.

 

Done this and it keeps getting the same error and wont progress!

 

deleting the files helps it go further... it went to 59% now its stuck.... no errors but the percentage and Updating (1511/2199) does not move or change for a loooong time.

got new info from:

1. After installing error, In the bottom right, click the arrow to open all running


programs, and exit the NC update helper, which is running.
1.5 Take off read only for NC folder in program files(x86)
2. Run installer again, should work now
3. Restart PC
4. Start > All Programs > NCsoft (NOT NCWEST) start aion directly.
5. Launcher starts, asks to update, update it
6. Play again


Start->Program Files->
Right click NCSoft
Click Properties
Uncheck "Read-only"
Apply to all subsequent folders.


reinstalled ncsoft gamelauncher -
went back to 53%


deleted files pak.003...
went up to 56%


went up to 59% now stuck

**theres also a suggestion to disable peer to peer in settings on the NC Soft Game launcher but theres no such setting there... i wanna scratch someones eyeballs out!!! I wanna play properly..
