Zombie Apocalypse is the best way to assume the full control over the planet.
Now you may ask, how. How are you going to rule the planet if it is infested with zombies.

Thtats pretty easy. Zombies are supposedly creatures with no brain, no emotions, no feelings, which are just looking out for brains, flesh and something rotten to eat.
There is no much difference between a zombie and a hungry and sick dog/cat/animal. So what are zombies mainly looking out for? They want food. They don't care about emotions, plasure, luxury, power,culture or whatsoever. They just want brains.
If you are good to them, and give them food, like other weaker humans, they will start respecting you because they will slowly understand that if they do not kill you, they get more food. And no, they are not completely mindless. If they have instincts such as feeding and hunting, and also being able to recognize someone who is a zombie and someone who is not, they will also be able to understand who is the one who brings them food.
Oh yea, you will have to sacrifice your human "friends" but you will be able to survive and to earn their "respect". You will be worshipped as "The one who brings the food", which is actually, the most important thing for a Zombie. You will be nothing else but a Goddess for them.

But slowly the human population will decrease and there won't be enough food for everyone anymore.
Not easy to deal with, but not impossible. You will simply put them in competition between eachoter. This means, in order to get the food, the zombies will have to fight against the other zombies, which want to feed as well. They will slowly start to eliminate eachoter to get more food.
Someone who's stopping you from doing the most important thing in your existance, which is feeding for a zombie, is an adversary, and has to be destroyed.

This will be the turning point. You, one of the few humans left on the planet, and worshipped by the zombies as a God, have the full access to the old technologies of the human race. Combining the destructive power of the nuclear bombs and of the old weapons with the internal conflict between the zombies, you will slowly be able to win over them and destroy them completely.

Once the zombie plague is defeated, you will stand there as the Saviour of Human race, the one who saved mankind from extincion.
You will build up the new human society with your rules, your laws and your power. You will be rich, powerfull and famous. And once you will die,everybody will rememeber you as a Hero.

So, yeah,a Zombie Apocalypse is a blessing.
