gs or spear?
what ms will fit against physical damage and what ms to defend there attk?
what ms will fit against magic damge and what ms to defend there magc attk?

Ok lets start at the basics:
Weapons. And by that i mean the Greatsword vs Spear dilemma.

1)TL;DR (you mongrel.):
Greatsword > Spear.

2)Medium long, too lazy and cannot into basic math (you mongrel.):
Greatsword > Spear cause the base stats of the spear are easier to "replicate" with manastones than a greatsword's.

3)And now the long version:
Non-extend (godmode arbiter stats as an example ofc.)
- Greatsword has + 100 accuracy, +40 parry, - 0.2 atk speed, 24 damage difference between min and max meaning you always do the same amount of damage.
- Spear has +39* attack, +40 crit, + 0.2 atk speed, 302 damage difference between min and max meaning you can do -150 damage than a greatsword OR +150 more on the SAME SKILL. With a spear you are relying on RNG and that's not what you do if you wanna pretend you're "good" at the class.

To get the greatsword's 100 accuracy with composite stones you'd need 7 x/accuracy +14 stones.
To get the greatsword's 40 parry (you are a horrible person for going parry) you'd need 3 x/parry + 14 stones.
That makes 10 manastones to get the base stuff of a greatsword (without the attack speed, you're forever cursed to have 1.4 with a spear)

To get the spear's 40crit you'd need 2 crit+19/x manastones OR 4 x/crit+9.
The attack on spear is kinda useless since it never hits exact numbers, but lets just add it for the heck of it - 8 atk+5/x manastones or 20 x/atk+2 (you're a horrible person if you go atk+2).

Extendable (DDL as an example, the 65 extend has pretty much the same stats +7/5/10 on random stuff)
- Greatsword has +50 accuracy, +40 parry, - 0.2 atk speed and a 21 damage difference between min/max.
- Spear has + 32* attack, + 40 crit strike, +0.2 atk speed and a 250 damage difference between min/max.

To get the greatsword's +50 accuracy you'd need 3 x/accuracy + 14 stones.(-8)
To get the greatsword's +40 parry (don't) you'd need 3 x/parry + 14 stones. (+2)
That makes 6 manastones to equalize the stat difference and when it comes to extendables and their lower stats you ALWAYS need more accuracy.

To get the spear's 40crit you'd need 2 crit+19/x manastones OR 4 x/crit+9.
That makes 2(4) manastones to equalize the difference.

K with that done lets move on to the next part:

Manastone builds:

1) Atk/Crit = this is mostly a pve build cause you'd be lacking accuracy for pvp, but if you add some atk/acc or crit/acc it CAN be decent (it's also what i was using until recently with 5 parts being atk/crit and 2 being atk/accuracy). If your whole set has +5 atk that gets you an extra 205/210 (extend/non-extend) damage per hit and 369/378 for crits. In pvp that gives around 120 per hit and 200 per crit. Like a permanent +30% physical damage buff skill. And YES attack does affect skill damage NOT just autoattacks.

2) Crit/Mr or just MR = this build is meant for pvp and it goes around having normal damage and crit + around 2.4-2.6k mres depending on your gear. This will NOT resist sorcs/sms/songweavers/gunslingers, it is to prevent gettings debuffs from temps/chanters/gladiators/sins/rangers/clerics and the lovely godstones.

3) Crit/accuracy, atk/accuracy - Anti-cleric and templar build, don't think i've seen anyone with it so far but it's for people who had horrible memories of fighting the above mentioned classes.

4) Magic accuracy - this is for godstone heroes who run around with 10% silence/blind stones (and a damned spear) and ruin people's lives. Also used by baddies because "BUT ANKLE SNARE IS MAGIC ACCURACY BASED".

5) Parry - The only way this build would be useful is in Siel with a gov set(high base parry), because the skills you need to be effective with parry are not worth taking over the more important ones in Lumiel. Considering that gladiators are pretty good versus physical classes and really weak against magic-based ones this build doesn't help you that much and is overall weak, BUT it is relatively easy to go parry in 4.0 due to spin block/repose and the new gear. If you can't get to 3.4-3.5k don't bother.

6) HP - Even if you go full hp with +100 stones that would give you 4k total which is 2-5 hits more. Since you don't have crit or accuracy the fight will be longer and the opponent will have more than enough time to do that extra 4k damage on you. It's just bad.

7) Block - kill yourself.

8) Flight time - Sniffing Aether Powder is illegal and bad for your health, don't do it kiddies.

These are the 3 viable builds right now:
Aion character calculator
1 - PVE build, works with a spear too
2 - Mr build, as you can see you have 2,6k accuracy and with zerking that will go down to 2.4k which is pretty low
3 - Crit/Acc, Atk/Acc - the PVP version of the first build

Also note that this does not include consumables. With a crit scroll and food you'd be looking at an extra 180 crit + 60 accuracy (and another 59 from woc2) OR 60 MR and 60 elemental defence (if using balic food).
