Donating Vs. Not Donating

Hello There Gamez Community! I was just wondering before I invest too much time in this server. What I always try to find out with any new server is whether its legit or not. What I mean by that is do you have to spend real life money in order to get the top gear and compete with other players or can you be just as good as somebody who spends real life money aka "donating" by just putting in time and work? Don't take offense to this question please. I understand donating helps GM's keep server going and if I am pleased with the server I always chip in.

 

You can compete with those donators by farming, crafting, by voting and stuff like that.

 

If you start discovering some nice ways to make money in this game, you can be just as rich without donating. As you said, you ll have to put some time and effort. Run instances, craft.. explore new Aion content after every update.. and so on.

 

I know a lot of people who has top gears without spending a cent. We call them Traders. Though I can imagine the hardships and the painstaking agony they had to go through waiting for the right time to get an awesome trade which of course favors them. It requires a large amount of patience and the ability to sense the situation of the market/economy. Well let's not forgot luck too lol.

Now we got people spending cash like a boss to get top gears. We call these dudes donators. Every time the server updates and new shit comes out they buy it. Being a donator gives you the edge among others since you got top gears and all. If your too lazy to farm and do quests for items then go ahead and donate. By the way, top gears can't be farmed/looted here so yeah bottom line is you either donate to get them glowy governor stuff or trade something really precious and tempting for it.

 

You can eventually be neck and neck with the players who invest real life money, however it takes a while... You can get somewhat decent gear(ACD) by gathering mithril medals (if you make an asmodian character, 15 are given to you in surveys once you level up to 60 I believe), but it will take a while to get the entire set as it would cost you ap too lol. Also, ACD is the 4th best gear in the game so you would still have some trouble against others who donate. If you vote, it would take you a while (like almost a year of non stop voting every 12 hours, every day) to get TOP geared. So in the end, its all up to you. But, if you're a smart trader you could get lucky ass good deals

You knew what you were getting into. As you said this is a private server and it will not survive without donations. So if you were to give up and leave, why make this topic in the first place?

Also, you are not going to compete only with people who donate. Because there are a lot of people in top gear that have never spent a single dollar in this server. You are going to compete with people who either put money, or time and effort. Either way, you would have to compete with others no matter where you went, even in retail. So that is not very logical to say the least.

Learn crafting. and craft good stuff so you can trade good item too, and Vote always so you can earn credit.

 

oh man I went full retail and I've actually calmed down because gamez was just pissing the poop out of me
I mean like 200 or 300 euros for a full set, fuck that shit

you can save that money to buy a new gpu or an extra monitor instead of giving it to someone that's already making millions from a shitty server

and I'm not against donating, I've donated on the real thing, and I don't feel bad cause it's the actual game and not some bad copy where nothing is working lulz

yeah I came back to gamez for like a week before I left again and now I started retail
I've already been playing retail for like 5 days now and updated my client so I can't come back until gamez updates which will probably take like a month lol

Gamez should definitely have more options open when it comes to gear but not all of it is simply due to it being impossible to buy it or something.

Just saying like, you can support NCSOFT all you want because its the real thing, but at the end of the day, they're a company out for money too and ever since f2p they've been upping the tactics to get people to spend more money.

Prefer retail all you want, I like retail too, but don't parade around like its some accomplishment to be proud of that you supported them instead of gamez, either way you're spending money when its not required. At least on gamez you can get some things you can't get on retail.
