[Fix] Full Item.pak guide.

Due to recent issues and persistant searching for a fix I finally figured out how to get past crashing on start up for Aion when you try new items packs.

Thanks to lafitness88, and Herlocks item.pak

If the 16MB Item.pak doesn't work for you try this, I recently reinstalled the game(Which did nothing). But trying this item.pak did something. So to the people that crash, give this a whirl.

Also back up your exsisting item.pak, and place this item pak inside this path.

C:\Program Files\NCSoft\Aion\Data\items

A friend of mine tried using the 14MB item.pak with no success. He tried the 16Mb one and it worked. Upon asking him what OS he has. he said Win7. So...

XP SP2+SP3: 14MB
Vista/Win7: 16MB

This is to my knowledge of whats presented to me currently, If you have any other ideas on what it could be please post.

Idk whats up with this but that link sends me to a download that is the original 14.5mb items.pak. I hate this.... i really want to be able to trade untradeables w/o switching items.pak files every time...

 

Its not the same. Try it, see if it works.

 

The one in the quote is the normal 14.47mb items.pak, which does not allow them to be tradeable.

 

No its not...I installed it on mine and it worked fine.

 

Im using the 16mb items.pak for win XP.

 

With the 14mb i still cant remodell taha. With the 16mb one i still get crash

 

I don't know about you guys, but i remodeled my taha polearm just like 4h ago, and it worked fine. And im using Windows 7.

 

i'm using xp..and i tried both 14.5mb and 16.5mb..still crash =.="
so sad but true~

 

Well, It was just a guess so I posted it. Since a friend of mine had a Win7 and the 16 worked.

 

I can remodel Tabahatas Spear,bow,sword etc...
and my only crash is Send log

 

sorry im newbie and want to ask what is remodel ?
remodel = recolor item or change the look of item ?
Where the npc remodel ?

Remodel = change the look of the item

Asmodians - "Keruthis" in Pandaemonium

Elyos - "Laokones" in Sanctum

Type /pathfinding <target name> for the exact location

 

Thats not accurate. I use the 16 mb one and i got win xp sp2, so does another friend of mine. I never tryed the 14 mb but i guess it wont work if the 16 mb works... or maybe.. u never know.

Listen, 14mb will most likely work if the other once does not. All I know is I downloaded, and followed all the 16mb fix, reparing, and all that jazz, but still does not work. I cannot get pass the ncsoft logo with black screen. However 14mb works for me I just cannot remodel or dye.

If its works for you, then thats great I guess we I am not as blessed.

If you know away to fix pls do share.

If not you do not how to fix ; then it does not help anyone when you say " it works for me" , since it does not really help people who are having trouble.
