Hi, I'm new here hehe
I'm playing on a private WoW server atm and was wondering if it goes the same way for aion so basicaly i DL the client version and play or are there some updates? i hate updating games cuz it takes so long, i mean i read aion updates are 5GB heavy .___.
Couple more questions ^^ do people do dungeons on this server or such? population rates asmo/ely
any tips or info about the game is gold for me becouse i played it realy realy shortly, only till lvl 18 :S

First things first if you dont have the old client or if this is your first time to play.. i suggest that you download the whole game around 27gb then i will help you myself on connecting to our server.About doing dungeons/instances yes this is a pvpve server on both Siel and Lumiel server. Siel has no stigma system and more populated Lumiel on other hand has a decent population with stigma system just like on retail.Checking the guide section will help you alot and if you have more questions feel free to pm me and Am's (Aion Master) here on forum

 

First of all welcome! Yes people do dungeons here xD , population depends on the server you chose, I think Siel is more populated than Lumiel, as for lumiel ely from 40-110 and asmos 40-60 sometimes even more people. And I dont know which private WoW server you are talking about so you can just compare the server's rates and so on.

Aion won't be more than WoW in size if you're concerned about it.

I'd suggest you try out Siel first since all of the skills and stigmas are on auto learn. Then if you want more of a challenge or to "show off" (like other people, that they are so much better since they have to use a limited amount of stigmas) then move to Lumiel.

Since I am currently playing Siel (Asmo) I can kind of estimate around 100+ players online. (You can't really notice people "sleeping" since the servers have gone so world wide).

Level capping takes around a day if you want to just go around a bit and not intensively level.
Leveling with premium would take half that time, and of course, leveling with VIP is the fastest. I believe you can level up in just 20 minutes if you know what you are doing.

its feenixes private wow server , 2.4.3 TBC with 1,8k people at horde on peak times 65% horde- 35% aliance rate
buggy as hell, lags, crashes 5 times a day.. a real paradise ^^
i know aion is huuuuge and i was just wondering if i can play the game after i dl thehuge 27gb without patching it for a while its ok for patches that are 1-2gb but 5-6 is extreme xD and how long do u stay on one version? i mean do u follow all versions of retail? now its 4.5.0.14 will it stay like that till 4,6 or some bigger or do u apply smaller patches too?

We follow retail patches in order to provide the best gaming experience, usually with some delay =)

Hello there and welcome to Gamez.

Aion clients are pretty huge (28 GB currently) and every patch adds another few GBs depending on the content.
Retail usually follows a regual update pattern, X.0 -> X.3 (Minor Patch) -> X.5 (Major Patch) -> X.6 (Minor Patch) -> X.0 (Major Patch).
However, we usually update our servers a few weeks after the official launch of the patch on north american servers.

As for the current population, Lumiel has around 90-110+ Elyos and 50-70 Asmos.
Siel's population depends a lot on the timezones: peak times are usually around 1 AM GMT-5 (US Central) in which the population goes over 300 per faction; Non peak times count around 150+ players for each faction.
