After a bit of Googling I have found this comment which seemed to work for a few others.

Turbo boost is not an overclock. Your CPU does not run at those frequencies and chances are it won't go that high in most situations (hell in most situations it is idling at 1 core @ 1.00-1.20ghz when you browse the internet)

One of the conditions for turbo boost to be applied is the temperature and even when that condition is met, turbo boost is a temporary boost, not a continuous one. With modern PCs I wouldn't worry too much. It is more productive to replace the stock fan with a better one than disable turbo boost.

By the way, most games these days are GPU intensive, not CPU intensive. Most new CPUs these days are more than enough for running all games today at max settings

    If I were you I wouldn't worry.

Yea I know you do xd It is one of the most common models. Yours is 4770, mine is 4770K. If it came with the stock fan I'd probably go for another one, it is generally considered kinda bad.

Before making any rash decisions I would get a program that monitors temperatures to see where the issue is (i.e. CPU, GPU, overall temp) to see which source gives off the most heat and which fans are the best to swap out.

I have pretty good experience with Speedfan since it keeps historical records too (when you mouse over a parameter like Core it shows you minimum, average, maximum temps, most other programs only show current so you don't find out the peak temp from gaming). Ignore the "CPU" parameter though as it shows overheat (127 degrees for me xD) since it adds up temperatures for all cores (didn't get the reason for that really).

Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections -> right click the wireless adapter and choose "Disable". When you want it back, just right click -> "Enable"
