Game will NOT run

Hey all,

I'm new around here so bare with me, it's also my first try at playing unofficial AION servers. The issue i'm having is that the game will not run at all, not with the Gamez launcher not even with the original launcher for the official server. It does update with the original launcher so it's up to date, my firewall is off, there is an exception for the Gamezlauncher in it anyway, Avast is off as well and still nothing. It shows up as a process 'Aion.bin' on my process list but it doesn't do anything afterwards. I tried the suggestions in the common problem thread and still nothing. I am running a Win7 Ultimate x64 and also tried with the .bin starter you guys have, which didn't do anything and I even noticed it was trying to run the 32 bit version and edited it to look for the 64 bit and still no luck. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Have you played Gameforge before or NA Aion?

 

Gameforge, which runs fine, I installed NA AION for this server (the NCsoft launcher one) but wont run

 

Can you please provide some screenshots from your C:\Program Files (x86)\NCSOFT and C:\Program Files (x86)\NCSOFT\Aion folders? And have you checked if you are using the right client version? Should be 4.5.0.14.

 

There you go, it says NCWest on my side for some reason, but I downloaded everything from the links on your website. Also I've downgraded the version using the forum thread here - still nothing.

 

What's the size of your Aion folder with the $Patch$ folder and w/o it?

And have you tried to "File repair" via NA launcher?

 

26.8GB without the $Patch$ folder, and with it was 40.something GB but I deleted the patch files from inside of it because they were for newer versions,,

 

Please make sure all your drivers are up-to-date (Net.Framework, Direct X etc.). The cause might be one of those small things, for now I couldn't find anything wrong out from the screenshots, looks fine. Make sure to restart your computer after all the updates.

 

Hi again... everything was up to date, I did try repair on .NET Framework and then restarted - still nothing I also have tried repairing the game from the NC launcher - still no luck! Any other ideas would be appreciated... really wanna play in this server since it seems to be the most active one and also official AION requires tons of real money to be spent .. :x

please download this file and install the fonts. Just double click on each font, its a known problem with Aion on Windows 7, if its not helping at all please reply again in this thread.

Hey there, thanks for replying! Installed all of them one by one, had only 2 of them already installed - but still the game wont run

 

You said you can't load either Official or our server? When you click start, does the aion loading icon show up at all? And if it does, does it disappear after a few seconds?

In your task manager, does the Aion process have any activity when it comes to CPU/Memory/Disk usage or is it frozen?

If the aion loading picture shows up, can you Screen shot the picture and show me it?

 

Hey to you too, Kyle! No loading screen is coming on, the process comes on instantly but stays frozen at 16,536 K ... if I try to run it again without killing the process first, another one comes on doing the same thing. Funny thing is that when I was trying to run the original game through the NCsoft launcher it did run one out of 10 tries given that the launcher was opening 5 instances of the game at the same time.. not trying now because I downgraded the version and it requires updates...

 

My only idea is that another program or your antivirus might still be trying to block Aion. I had this issue before. I disabled my Windows Firewall completely and uninstalled my Antivirus programs and disabled alot of my background services that I don't need.

 

Ok let me start disabling stuff then! My firewall is completely off all the time anyway, my anti virus is off at the moment but I don't plan on completely deleting it because it wont make a difference if it's deleted or completely disabled as it is now, I think? Anyway! Let me see how this goes I will update you guys!

 

Do what you want when it comes to your programs, it's just a suggestion as it worked for me. Some people who have issues starting aion is because their Antivirus software or some other program is not letting the game load.

Also, you are running the game as Administrator right?

 

UPDATE!!

First off, Kyle, I know that your post was just a suggestion and I'm usually keeping my software running quite tightly, but thought I should try it anyway!

It didn't help at all though! What I managed to do now is running the game, meaning I saw the AION launching pic in the middle, then the game launched but froze on the black screen and this error prompted:




I managed to run the game by using your .bat launcher but editing it to locate the 64 bit game exe instead of the 32 bit one, as it was written by you.

Any ideas now?


EDIT: I am running the game as an administrator and in win xp compatibility as well just in case..

Well, can you show me the the properties of your Gamez Launcher in the Gamezaion private server folder that you are trying to run the gamez server from?

The path should be going to computer>Seagate>Games>Priv_Aion.

If that is correct, then try following this quote that our wonderful Senior AM put in his awesome Guide.

Pretty much you have one of two issues.

1. Your launcher has a path to the wrong game.
2. Your client is missing files.

 

start "" "A:\Games\Priv_Aion\bin64\aion.bin" -ip:77.70.59.157

Thats how the .bat file looks like, path is correct, saw somewhere that the ip is needed in order to properly connect, currently doing the 1. from the guide

EDIT: Currently download 2gigs of repair files O_O i'm guessing that's the ones I deleted so will see how this goes!

 

Uninstall then reinstall the launcher to have the path go to "Priv_Aion". Don't put the path in Bin64. Then relaunch the game as admin.



Since you are repairing, make sure you downgrade back to 4.5.0.14.
