I need advice

So I opened up a store a few years ago. At first when I opened it up, everyone wanted to be manager and it was a big mess while they all fought each other, called in sick all the time and tried to publicly shame each other in front of our customers. Luckily over the past few years after most of the idiots left, things calmed down.

Anyway, I hired this one guy. Lets call him Ira. He's a very hard worker and everyone around him likes him, unfortunately for a long time his old manager would lie to me about his efforts so he didn't immediately get promoted, but now he's been a manager for at least a year and well, hes been doing a very good job. Ever since we made him a manager things have been running smoothly and customers have generally been pretty happy. As happy as customers get, anyway.

My friend who I opened up the business with on the other hand hired some weirdo a while back. It was for general janitorial services but this idiot started offering customer service to customers too, and telling customers who have been here for years to get out of the store over minor incidents. We had even put a store wide ban on a criminal so the criminal couldn't hurt any of our customers anymore and this stupid janitor went and smuggled him in the store with a fake identity. Who does that? Since this guy came in I've noticed a trend of more customer unhappiness (which is not very well remedied by the janitor attempting to perform customer service himself) and more customers leaving the store to go elsewhere.

Now, here's the issue I need advice with. Ira wants me to fire the janitor, but my friend who hired him wants me to fire Ira. What do I do? I have no clue how to handle this situation, I only have statistics in hand telling me that all my workers and a great majority of my customers may leave if Ira does, and that Ira brings in customers, but I really don't know how that matters, its so tough to decide.

In the end I ignored it all and I've decided to burn down my store. It was the only reasonable option rather than standing up for what I believe in and making $$$
