    There's no other way to do so yes. The system is designed to protect those players mainly who play in internet shops. With this function, they can prevent their accounts from being hacked since the locking system will not let anyone else do basic things on the locked character such as trading etc. until the person himself decides to go back there the next day and unlock the account to play again.
