Yes, the block cap is 50% chance to block. Anything greater than this will be lost.

If I am not wrong, having 500 more block than your enemy accuracy reach the chance cap of 50% of the hit get blocked.

As most of players have 4k accuracy, having 4.5k block is the cap for most of the cases. Whatever, there is some people running around 5k accuracy with the new manastones.

4.5k block is low since i dunno, 4.7.
I have around 5.2k block and I do end up nicely on the positive side of that chance to block.
But versus ranger, most of their skills are magical accuracy dependent to say the least so that could've helped him hitting you, but 6k block vs 4k accuracy shouldn't get hit that much (mathematically at least)

I'd like to ask it in here too. Is it possible for the hybrid cleric/chanters to get that kind of block cap? What is the block cap of the cleric/chanter classes anyway?

This is completely untrue. Magical accuracy does not help someone pierce block. As @rodrigoazlima said above, as long as you have 500 block more than your opponent's accuracy you should be at block cap assuming everything is working as intended.

There is a point want to assure here. Block is calculated against physical accuracy (or just accuracy), the normal one. The same goes for evasion and parry.
But magical accuracy is against magical resist.
You can can get 6k block, the archer probably will get blocked, but the magical effect of the hit will still trigger. Because it's against your magical resist.

    For example:
a templar with 6k block and 2.2k magic resist vs a ranger with 4k accuracy and 2k magical accuracy.
The ranger uses Silence Arrow and gets blocked, whatever the silence still procs. Because you didn't resist it's effect.

An important note that i do also want to warn you: most of physical debuffs, like lockdown, Silence Arrow, Assassin's runes have bonus to the magical accuracy, most of they are around +400 bonus, some at +200, it depends on the skill. To resist them you must have extra magical resist, but as most of people (physical ones) don't slot magical accuracy, so it is not that important against physical classes, whatever against magical ones its vital, most of magical classes have the magic boost/magical accuracy manastones.

That is the reason why you can not lockdown (gladiator skill) a Templar with the magic resist buff (aether armor), except if you got a really better gear or get magical accuracy from manastones ( like the new one, precision)

Another note I want to take, there is some physical debuffs in the game, and they are affected by block, parry, evasion (lol) and physical defense. I do not know much about their chances of triggering. all I can tell you is: the chance of rupture arrow (ranger, second skill in chain) knock you back is lower if the attack gets blocked.
Also can't afirm if it will knock back at all. Never done huge tests on those skills.

Thanks everyone who read it all! :D
