Is it really just as toxic as retail??

I've played on 2 private servers now and retail and I was hoping this community wasn't toxic like the others but alas it is. Im a 47 year old mother of 3 grown children that has been playing MMOs for 15+ years and have never seen a community as toxic as bdo's in all servers. Not to give a sob story...but I will lol.. I care/assist for my partner of 31 years who suffers a chronic illness and gaming is my 'escape from reality', it's really hard to watch someone who has been so much a part of your life fade away and not be able to assist them in any other way other than just being there. Gaming communities for me, are not only an escape but my only real form of socializing with other people. I spent so much money on retail and to find a private server that i felt comfortable playing in or finding people to associate with that are friendly would be nice. I try to help as Ive been playing for a year also played in CBT1 of retail and even that gets thrown in your face. I want to stay but if I cant find people worth playing ( I dont expect to make friends but a 'friendly wave' would be nice lol ) then this is just another SSD filler also.Sorry if you all don't agree with me, but from my point of view it's how I feel. And before I get all the negative responses to my post..please don't.

I just bought the retail few days ago and I haven't played yet, and I don't think I will ever play there (waste of money I know). At the moment the only reason I'm playing on this gamez server is because of @PureBusiness and @Luff and I'm really having fun. Maybe contact Wrath in game and ask to join his guild, its active and I'm sure it will be easy for you to make friends in here.
Besides, if there will be any negative replies just ignore them all.

 

Thanx but it was that guild I just left due to an incident with another guildie when I was trying to help...think I will just go back to retail, well continue coz I still play it daily or see if there isn't another private server to try out and hopefully find people worth playing with. Gamez BDO is still in growth process and it needs more players to occupy it fully. Well Gamez Aion is different. Its been out since 2010 and it has a bit of "TOXIC" moments if thats what it is.

Hi, emphysema - increasingly worse over the last 2 years to the point of only having 12% lung capacity left...and yes it was due to over 30 years of smoking. Thanx for your best wishes.

Hello. I just got to know your situation and if you just wanna play and talk maybe a much smaller guild will help you. I'm inviting you in mine which is currently formed of 3 members that know how to play so I doubt you can go wrong "helping".Even if we're tiny we are not powerless. Hope I hear more from you.

I think at the end of the day it's how you react, more than is it toxic. The Internet is a bastion of toxicity due to the anonimity afforded. You may want to stop and understand why you are so offended/upset by the trolls that exist for the pure purpose of pissing on other people to make their lives feel somewhat less empty, or to distract attention from their own flaws.

As Jeebus said "Fuck 'em, you only have to tolerate them for mere minutes, they stuck with themselves for a good long while"

Sometimes you will see toxic people in games, and is difficult to always be the mature one and tolerate them, but is the best. If you feel stressed in a game just don't play it for a while, maybe change guild, get to know other people in game. If you try Lumiel sometime you can contact me here and i will go to your rescue .
