Client Issue GamezAion Launcher is Crashing

By happy you get just that. Mine launches but when I start the game with it I get an immediate hard pc freeze. Every single time. Not sure what is up with it. Running with the .bat launcher works perfectly fine.

Run it as an administrator. If didn't help, delete and re-install your Gamez Launcher.

P.S. Perhaps you want to remove your video as showing user information in public is not the wisest.

 

I have 2 suspicions:
1. folder is read only
2. you don't have admin rights.

If you notice, on completion it adds the "remyself.cmd" file that immediately disappears. I decompiled the launcher to check what it does. Seems that when the launcher is out of date, it downloads the new one called GamezAion.exe.temp. Notice the size is 17,654kb. The launcher has to swap itself out with the new version so it makes a side script that can run without the launcher running:

1. Rename GamezAION.exe to GamezAION2.exe (so the name is not in use)
2. Rename GamezAION.exe.temp (the new launcher) to GamezAION.exe (to take place of the previous launcher)
3. Delete GamezAION2.exe.temp (leftover after the old launcher)

If you notice, the original launcher size was 17,652kb and that never changed. This means that the script fails to do the renaming/deleting of the old launcher and when the launcher starts again, it is still the same out of date version. I would make sure the folder is not read only and try run the launcher with admin rights. User Account Control or Antivirus can also prevent scripts from renaming/deleting files.

A manual fix for you would be:
1. Delete GamezAION.exe
2. Rename GamezAION.exe.temp to GamezAION.exe

This will essentially do what the script has been trying to do and give you the new launcher.

Generally crashes when the folder is read only as the first thing the launcher tries to do is delete few old files (that it won't have access to). Go one folder up and from properties untick read only (the box has 3 phases, you want the completely blank one) and apply it to all subfolders. You can also click "View problem details" on the error to see more info.

 

@Smartik1 Can you help me please? So when I choose empty read-only slot then apply to subfolders and then ok, after options window is gone it turns back into read-only so if i open gamezaion folder properties read-only is black squared again. I have admin rights and don't understand why it doesn't stay blank

 

Yea the folder does that, that's fine (when it shows a black box in properties), as long as you applied it without it. What exact problem do you have at the moment? I can also take a look over teamviewer.

 

Client crashes after launch nothing special although yesterday I started game when I blanked read only box and clicked apply not ok so i kept option window open and started gamezaion launcher and it started fine but today that didn't work. crashes anyways. this is clean download from torrent.

 

Is it the client crashing or the launcher crashing. Anyways get teamviewer and I can have a look.
